Would you mind saying why this is so? I have no great love of the Church of England myself but your statement is as about as bigoted and irrational as saying "all Americans are fat, ugly, uneducated hillbillies." (not related, but an allegory Definitely there are people and rules in the church of England that must be "crap" (same for any organization) but I fail to see how that justifies your hatred of anything and everything even "supported by the Church of England."
Sheesh, man, open your mind some. You're the one who'll miss out most if what you allow yourself to experience is driven by you despising products simply because "so and so organization supported it."[/B]
Lighten up dude, it was a throw away remark Some people take remarks here way too seriously.
and some of their reasoning for supporting this movie is faulty.
I'm not saying you should see it, just saying that you should not judge a movie you haven't seen simply because the COE endorsed it.
I should take biased decisions and insults to a group of people that includes several of my friends lightly?
I respect your right to be close-minded and say stupid, inflammatory things.
But surely you didn't think that once said nobody would disagree? rolleyes:
But you said that The Passion of the Christ sucked because the Church of England supported it, not the other way around. I actually agree with you somewhat on this point, but your statement wasn't "the Church of England sucks because it supports The Passion of the Christ" but "The Passion of the Christ sucks because the Church of England supports it." That is what I have the problem with.

You can't blame religion for the failings of man. Do you really contend that those millions who not have been killed for another reason? Religion was often used as an acceptable social shield for underhand behaviour.
Then you will forgive my impertinence for asking.Originally posted by CurtSibling
I don't owe you any explanation for my stance.
I hardly think it is fair to blame Marx for Stalin's reign of terror. And I especially think it is unfair to blame a man of peace and love (Jesus) for the actions of, say, the Spanish Inquisition (All together now. Our chief weapon is surprise, surprise and terror...).Originally posted by CurtSibling
You know history, what you suggest is like not blaming communism for the ills it caused.
