Wii still ahead

Here we go again....I'm tired of debating this.

I got bored of MP3 after about 10 minutes.. I knew i had played this game already a million times.. YAWN.

While many people are buying the Wii, they (unfortunately for game developers - and in the long run customers) are not buying many Wii games.

Tried GH3 (Which admittely is multiplatform)

This was admittedly the first Metroid game I've ever bought (well, second, but that was after losing Metroid Fusion). But yes, I agree that it doesn't do anything different than the other Prime games (I've seen my cousins play the original, and there seems to be just about zero differences graphically).

Oh well, Metroid Prime 3 did earn IGN's award for best graphics (technical; best art went to Super Mario Galaxy) on the Wii in 2007, and IGN also awarded it as the Adventure game of the year 2007, and it isn't all that bad. I'd probably give it a 9.1/10. Actually, here are the scores for my three favorite video games of all time.

Super Mario Galaxy: 9.4/10
Metroid Prime 3: 9.1/10
Civilization IV: 8.8/10

Why that low for Civ4? Well, the graphics and sound kinda get repetitve (although I do like the leaders' themes), and it is waaaaayyyyyyyy to time consuming for somebody my age. I'm going to get a better computer this summer so that I can give Civ4 a 9.2/10.

Oh, and what are our thoughts on Mario Kart Wii. None of the Mario Kart games have been that bad (I definetely think Mario Kart 64 deserves way more than the 6.4/10 that Gamespot gave it), so this should be good. Right?

Oh, and any game with Mario is never that bad. Actually, right now Mario Kart 64 and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games are rated by Gamespot as the worst games with Mario.

Yeah Metroid Prime 3 isn't the greatest game of its kind, but it's still a good game to play. Graphically it doesn't really improve on the Gamecube Metroid Prime games. The most noticeable difference is the use of the Wii remote. I actually give Metroid Prime 3 about a 9.0/10.

I haven't played it, but from what I hear the worst Mario game probably is Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games.

Metroid Prime 3 has tons of these sequences.

Yes, I know, and? What?

I was reffering to them making use of the Wiimote for point and click adventures, which TBH is a very outdated genre IMNSVHO. Doing something new with something old, at least some company is learning.

The main thing I like about the Wii is the VC. While there aren't a tremendous amount of games I would buy, I still have about 8 of them. I have only 2 regular wii games, but I am for sure getting Kart, and MLB 2k8. I never really get bored by it, I can still play wii sports for like an hour. If I want to play a game that will take me forever to finish one sitting, I will play civ or sim city. Even twilight prices doesn't really take that long. With how much more popular the DS is than the PSP I think people will keep buying wii's just so they can play other games in the series's they get for the DS.

No. If Kojima said it aint coming for the 360 it most definitively will never come for the Wii.

Consider that Metal Gear games have been on Nintendo consoles (2 on the NES and 1 on the GameCube), but they have never been available on any other major video gaming company's consoles.

The Wii doesn't have the specs to meet their requirements. A PS3 exclusive from a big name series probably won't release a later game in the series on the Wii, it would be a complete regression of graphics.

It's interesting to note that in January the Wii barely beat out the PS3 in sales in America.

Consider that was about 20 years ago. Your really need to improve your rational and logical thinking process.

But at least it happened; Metal Gear games have NEVER been on consoles other Nintendo's and Sony's (and the PC).

While hopes of Metal Gear Solid 4 reaching the Wii are gone, I have hopes of a Metal Gear game reaching the Wii.

It would be called Metal Gear World, and would basically be The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess set in the Metal Gear universe. And don't forget stripping down the violence, otherwise I won't be allowed to get it.

*shakes head in disbelief*

/facepalm

Umm... yes they have. Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance was released on the XBox in 2002. About what about Metal Gear 1 and 2 way back on the MSX? You really might want to research this stuff before you post, Swein.

On topic, warpstorm couldn't be more wrong about the Wii not selling software. Worldwide (not just counting America), it's selling considerably more software than the 360 or PS3. Japan is entirely dominated by the Wii and (especially) the DS right now. The Wii has 19 million seller titles already (the PS3 has 8). And in December 2007, the Wii sold more software in the US than any other platform. The whole "Wii sells hardware but not software" myth is ENTIRELY untrue. But because so many gamers are hostile to the changes brought by the Wii, expect to see that reputation continue to stick around, even as it gets more and more out of touch with reality.
