[WIP] Project Civ: A Quality-Oriented Civ Pack

it rather looks familiar to me, I'm betting it's a condor which would mean this would have to be an andean civilization
It's a rooster IMO
Didn't find any connection to this symbol within any of the French or Belgian colonies though

Regarding the second one - it looks Asian to me.

I should change my signature to "I really know nothing and you shouldn't take any of the above words seriously."

Andean Condor. Features in the coat of arms of many South American states, according to Wikipedia.

Too easy, it's the rooster of the famous french colony, coat of arms from 1820-1821 :mischief:

Yeah, the point in my post was the date of the coat of arms
All the other is just a loosy reference to my horrendous tip on the top of the page :)

Still can't believe none of you have guessed the secret civ yet. So we know this. They're in South America... Well, they were, anyway.

Some suggestions:

Schytia
Numidia
Parthia
Hungary (Not as a modern Civilization)
...

The only one of those I'd even be remotely interested in is Hungary. And that's not much, considering Austria pretty much contains them. If I did do them though, it would probably be vanilla only.

Great choice :goodjob:

The way Austria is represented should be changed. New UU, definitely, maybe a couple other small changes as well
Medieval Hungary is very neglected in history games :(
It was one of the top and most important european powers for more than 600 years (900-1500)
Continuously ruling over a territory that is bigger than medieval France at any point of history

PS: Check this thread for it: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=482652
You could work with cool3a2, he is very enthusiastic in hungarian mods
Artwork (map ala Civ V style) is definitely needed

Oh, that's probably for the very same mod then :)

I had reached that conclusion already
if you want a guess, then I'm betting Olmec

What?
But I already posted even that the flag was from 1820-1821
Meant it as another hint (and of course to show you I already know it ;))

Here is the solution in spoiler:
Spoiler :
It's the second flag of Gran Colombia, used from 1820-1821

Oh, I see what you did there. Good work.

It's getting about that time. Sparta's probably about to go into a development freeze and private testing stage for a few days. If it passes, I'll send it out to you guys.

Gently caress it. I'm not a professional and I'm not going to pretend to be.

Here's Sparta in its current state. I want your feedback.

Just take this file and drop it in your Civ 5 Mods folder.

My mind is focused on a few balance changes for Sparta. There are some who will cry that having that many soldiers is overpowered. There are some who will cry that having that many soldiers to maintain, and the fact that they don't receive XP from training buildings sucks donkey parts. That said, I think I can nerf them while buffing them at the same time by reducing their soldiers from being the main body of the player's army to the soldiers being a healthy supplement to the player's army. At the same time, I would throw in XP for soldiers from military training if I could.

There are others that I would consider.

Sparta's main issue right now is that while they are booty warrior tier early game, they fall off into probably the lowest of the low tiers around late renaissance. Having a bunch of spearmen or pikemen doesn't translate well into a modern army (eventually they become lancers, anti-tank guns, and helicopters.) In my experience, late game Sparta... There's poopoo tier. Then there's the ground. Then there's fifty feet of poop. Then there's Sparta's tier.

Though, to be fair, I'm not much of an early game player. I can tell that Sparta revolves around playing a damn strong early game to have it made late game.

I just lost my first game as Sparta today, and it was an eye opener in the respect that having a big bad booty warrior army isn't everything (especially when you're running out of Supply...) So don't overestimate their UA.

All this being said, I think I'm ready to label Sparta's playstyle as:

Bully

Could you update your opening post too?
Preferably with pics from the already completed civs :)

I'll be getting around to that between now and Phoenicia. I may actually hold off on Phoenicia; Tibet and Gran Colombia are starting to shape up. I want your ideas for a second unique item for Phoenicia!
