HI ! i'm playing civ v BNW v. 1.0.3.279 but when I click on the government button (after i choose my government), the government screen doesn't pop up. i'm already download the RtP v.30 and community balance patch v.1.11.10

Finally first CTD. Unfortunately a severe one. Dead end. Unplayable.
I have my settings on auto save to save once every 2 turns and kept save of 2.

Was on turn 362 when I load the game and right after turn 364 it got CTD.

I think it has something to do with a civ getting ideolgy because the first one got on turn 362.
Or maybe of the Treasure Fleet resolution and I didnt contribute any points on that.
Or maybe erasing completely the religion of shaka (capital conquered) using inquisitor but that was way way long time ago, 30-50 turns probably.
Or the capitulation process upon peace treaty which happend 5-15 turns ago.

Hello again. I have a strange "error", though it isn't necessarily breaking the game, at least as far as I can tell. I seem to have +0 piety per turn & the piety meter on the far right of the screen shows #INF turns remaining, & the piety breakdown says that my piety will change in NaN turns. & the piety report is devout with "-0 for being above your resting rate" and "-1 from other Civilizations following your State Religion". I believe that it should be -1 for being above your resting rate and +1 for other Civs following my religion instead? If that's the case then I suppose that it's working properly & that this is just a text error, which is insignificant. Log attached below.

Hello, I have some odd questions that I think I could answer myself in a few days, but I bet a lot of people have already played with this mod and could easily just provide me with some quick help.

So: How do the reforms look like/work? I read through the wikia page, but there wasn't much about them. I'm aware there are 8 different areas of reform, and I know there are left, center and right reforms. So those of you who have played with it, could you grab me some screenshots? It's a little weird to ask that, but my game is currently still in a state in which I'm not fully comfortable playing it until I get a few things working, but I'd love to know how it looks and works, so it'd be easier for me to work on some customizations I'm doing for myself with some civs. It's either coming here to ask or adjusting the numeric flavor settings potentially pretty horribly :p Id' rather make it right the first time around.

This is aimed more to those who know a bit more about this mod, but how does the currencies functionality work? For some reason I can't access the currencies table in the debug database to see what kind of values there are that could be used. Is this module still a WIP and I should just ignore that field in the MSF?

This is more aimed to those involved in the development of this mod or anyone that could answer this since I guess it's also pretty general question, but I've been using the MSF file when adding support to custom civs for the new features, but just now I'm starting to realize that some parts of it are potentially outdated. For example the part about political parties states that

So the question: Is there likely going to be many additions/removals/changes in this table? The way it looks now - worth mentioning is I haven't really had the chance to actually try the mod, only read the wikia page, this thread a bit and some of the files in the mod - it only shows one party/faction for theocracy option for example. Not really sure if that's just a WIP or an actual game mechanic that theocracy doesn't have opposing parties, but I'm thinking that's probably not it. Also I'm not quite certain if dictatorship is the holy roman empire, but in wikia it has 5 parties/factions, but the dictatorship entries in the table only have 4. Also there's something called democratic parties under republic, but I couldn't find a mention of them in the wikia. But all of these are not my actual questions or regards, they're just to show that I'm having a hard time understanding things.

So what I'm really asking here is if I add unique texts to all of these in this table, are some of them potentially removed/fundamentally changed later on or activated at the same time as introducing a bunch of new ones? Since in both scenarios I'd probably "waste" (though not really, every bit I do is helping me learn the ropes really, and any work used to add support to this awesome mod (extension, really) isn't really a waste) some time that I wouldn't really need to.

Also as mentioned, I'm having a hard time understanding which entry there is which party. I'm reading throught the .xml files in the sovereignity folders, and seems like I can't find the "basic" or "default" names really. I'm guessing this mod natively supports unique text lines for each vanilla civ, since those I was able to find a bunch. The problem is, all of them have some sort of funky name, which makes it pretty hard to differiate e.g communist parties and populist parties etc, so I can't really draw definite conclusions on which actual party in-game is in question.

Hmm. Also I'm guessing some of the entries aren't included in this build of the mod, since I couldn't find any entries for example FACTION_JFD_PROGRESSIVE (I was initially thinking that could be libertarian, but seems like it isn't?). I feel very stupid not being able to piece this together. It seems like the obvious solution would be to actual play the game and then check on firetuner/logs/wherever I'd find the answer to what's what, but I can't really do that just yet. :sad:

Basically, Reforms are like Social Policies, but exchange a bonus for a penalty. They require a minimum amount of Sovereignty, but don't cost any, and after passing one you must wait 20~ turns before you can pass the next.

Currencies is a part of Prosperity, which was/is intended to be an additional component. It's still unreleased, and at this late point may not be released - I'll consider what I'm doing with it after my third trimester finishes in December. In the meantime, just ignore it.

The wikia page is quite outdated (I ended up not adding Reactionaries, for instance). What's in the MSF should be considered overriding. From the looks of it, you're using the wrong MSF - the one I have, which is in Google Drive (not Dropbox), lists:

Of course, there's nothing better than looking at the files themselves, as you initiated. There are technically a few other factions (all of the Oligarchy ones, incl. the progressives), but I don't give them unique names - the functionality is there, though.

The complexity of the Theocracy and HRE governments mean that they only have unique Revolutionary factions in that table (or, the HRE will). The Clergy and Prince-Electors, respectively, that they get in game are (necessarily) created in Lua. I'm sorry for the outdated and confusing wikia. I mean to update it when I can. Especially for Sovereignty, its best just to look at the files (the Sovereignty_GameText.xml file has all the pedia entries), or ask us. To explain the things you note:
--Dictatorship is a distinct government type, different from HRE. Each government has two different Legislatures, which have different compositions in factions. Dictatorship have 2 in total (1 for the One-Party Legislature, which can be 1 of 3 depending upon your ideology, and 1 for the Military Junta Legislature, which is always your 'military'). It's only available once you have an Ideology, however.
--With that said, HRE is a WIP government that I intend to add later.
---Later in development, the Republic's two Legislatures (Democracy and Oligarchy) changed a bit in how they functioned. That is, Democracy became more unique, and is now composed of 2 factions (Popularists and Nationalists). I don't think I ever updated the wiki to reflect this.

As to your question there; other than the Revolutionaries for the HRE (likely, PRINCE_ELECTOR_JFD_REVOLUTIONARY), I don't think there will be more additions to those lists - although I still have to determine how to implement the extremist factions in a Theocracy, so its possible. You need not worry about adding unique names for the HRE Revolutionaries, however, as all Revolutionary factions (you'll notice that all except Dictatorship have them) use the unique list for PARTY_JFD_REVOLUTIONARY. So stick to the list above - although you can omit PARTY_JFD_REACTIONARY if you like; this is unlikely to be implemented.

You'll find the base names in Sovereignty_GameText_Governments.xml, at the end of the file. Progressives are the extremist Oligarchy faction (that is, a faction that appears once you have an ideology), whereas Libertarians are an extremist Parliamentary faction. It gets a bit complex :p

Basically, Reforms are like Social Policies, but exchange a bonus for a penalty. They require a minimum amount of Sovereignty, but don't cost any, and after passing one you must wait 20~ turns before you can pass the next.

Currencies is a part of Prosperity, which was/is intended to be an additional component. It's still unreleased, and at this late point may not be released - I'll consider what I'm doing with it after my third trimester finishes in December. In the meantime, just ignore it.

The wikia page is quite outdated (I ended up not adding Reactionaries, for instance). What's in the MSF should be considered overriding. From the looks of it, you're using the wrong MSF - the one I have, which is in Google Drive (not Dropbox), lists:


Of course, there's nothing better than looking at the files themselves, as you initiated. There are technically a few other factions (all of the Oligarchy ones, incl. the progressives), but I don't give them unique names - the functionality is there, though.

Thanks for the extensive assistance yet again! Before addressing the other parts, I've gotta say... I wish I had that MSF to start with. :D I must have looked for it at a wrong place and picked up an outdated one indeed. I've got to do a bunch of things differently, it seems. Luckily, I already have most of the text bits written out, just have to rework the sql file and add whatever's missing.

Anyway, that sheds enough light on the system(s) for me to start addressing the political party names and the rest. Who would've known that such a repetive task would be so exciting; even if it looks like I can't shape the world to look more like I want it to, at least I can shape civ's world to look like one :smoke:

I blame Civ 6 for this, thus making the glorious JFD mods incomplete.:king::scan:
 
I want ask about my State Religion i have 200/200 devout -2;-1 i cant get + and still have 30 turns to change ;/
 
Played another game. Strangely, it CTDed on the same turn as I reported above. CTDed on turn 362 on dead end. Unplayable. Please look into it as this is my second game and on different civ this time. Thanks.
 
I can do nothing about CTDs unless I experience them on my end, sorry. The game did not provide any useful way to source the problem in this regard. If you're using a lot of mods, trying lessening them. If you are using ExCE, drop it or switch off Attrition. If your database log has any errors, trace them using stopwatch and eliminate those mods. That's about all you can do.

So, I've been getting this weird error where the game refuses to let me end turns. Happens only after Sov has been installed.

The Lua log only shows this, without saying what error it is:

A few more errors here and there (not sure where to let you guys know... These errors have zero impact on the game play.

Also, another thing I've noticed. After installing sov, I've met a bunch of civs that are basically brain dead. By that I mean they have a huge capital with no improvements. Some units standing around, going around to clear camps, but doing nothing else. In fact they seem to act like citystates.

Im okey with CTD as long as you can continue the game by loading it. But all I encounter was DEAD END. No matter how you load, the game quits. I cant finish the game.

Was using these,

MODS List:
All VP (11-18 latest) 1,2,3,4,5,6b (NO EUI, Deleted the LUA on 1 and 2)
CulDiv 13, Rtp 30, CiD 54, EC 4, EnD 3, InfoAddict 22
NO other custom civs, all defualt.

With this, its pretty much only your mods. Im not using EXCE.
Not counting (VP, EnD and IA). Unless, PURE JFD mods only but it is simply "impossible" to play without VP CBO etc.

I did look at the LUA and DATABASE, and it seems theres no "error".
I hope someone "will" encounter the same problem as mine as so help sort out.

My only idea would be the error occurs when you play the game on a saved game (of course, same exact mods and versions).

I guess Ill be playing on your old versions on CiD and RTP along with EXCE, CULDIV, and EC whom were all compatible with EUI that time and have zero problems.
 
Hungary is quite outdated and shouldn't really be used with RtP atm. What other mods are you using?

I know you put countless mouths into developing it and I wanted to express my gratitude (the radicals in my legislature currently holding me at gun point, LOL... help)

But anyway, I had some questions about Events and Decisions and the Events Compendium.
1) As decisions are a vital part of RTP, is the Events Compendium intended to replace E&D?
2) Would you recomemd using E&D and EC at the same time, if so should I disable the events features within E&D when EC is used?
3) I have been trying to download EC but unfortunately everytime I place it on my mods folder (it is a .civ5modfile), load the game, and go to my mods menu, it will start to install and then as the files begin to unpack I get a CTD from my mods menu (w/the message popping up saying my game has crashed). I can provide more info if it is needed but I have cleared cache and moduserdata, tried downloading previous version, and restarted my PC with no success.

You're the guy who did all the political party flavour text, aren't you? Heck, you should be congratulating yourself! :p

1. The EC is designed to improve the CP:Events, which in turn are designed to replace Sukri's Events.
2. As a continuation from above, yes; recommended setup is E&D and EC with Suk's Events disabled. This is purely because CP:E is more stable (although the vanilla events are quite dull; thankfully the EC adds a load of Sukri's!)
3. Does it crash every time you try to open the menu? I often end up experiencing crashes after clearing cache, but once the mods have unpacked themselves it's usually fine. Since .civ5mod files are simply renamed zips, you can just unpack them manually with 7Zip or WinRAR. That should avoid crashes.
