Wish list for the patch that will never come

When using multiple GP for a golden Age: the ability to select which ones to use.
You can do this now by carefully putting the N you want in the same tile. It would be nice to have a less micro-managing way to do it.
However, Barbarian triremes, galleons, and privateers may appear... the last may spawn in any ocean tile.
Given how much of the ocean is nearly always under Fog of War, seems like this would make a LOT of privateers. On the other hand, having genuine "pirates" might add something interesting.

Lots of interesting ideas. For a few of them I'd want a "gameplay" options tab to turn them on or off.

@Archon Wing - Pretty much agree with all that other than Barb Galleons/Triremes. Unless they made it so there was a red team and blue team of barbarians so they'd fight each other and limit how many have time to pillage seafood.

I'd also like to complain about the AP again. The votes are ridiculous - such as stopping wars, or gifting back cities. Makes no sense - not fun when it involves you (can make close games unwinnable) and don't really care what is happening when it doesn't involve you.

Defying hurts a little too much in close games too - any spreading of AP religion was now wasted hammers, monasteries/temples wasted hammers, and -5 happiness everywhere. Seems like the AP shouldn't have anything to do with control of cities and wars between civs. At least if the leader of the AP isn't involved it shouldn't... I can't think of good alternative things for the AP to vote on so I'd just prefer if it was removed from the game.

Hmm, could the spawn rate for them be made relatively lower? My idea was that a few pirates would hide in uncharted waters and stop to mug unsuspecting ships and pillage/blockade.

Also, said pirates would have low attack courage as they shouldn't engage fleets directly. Would there be a way to make them rarely pillage/blockade if they can be attacked by the next turn and avoid engaging warships in general? Or if that's not possible, just have barb cities make them

Also, which settings would you want off =p

Hmm, how long would it take them receive those techs anyways? I guess Barb Galleons shouldn't exist.

XD I thought most of you high level players have already won by the time you get tanks. So what about getting rid of the march?

It'd fit the historical context much better to just give german panzers more firepower, because that's where they were superior. Especially the larger german tanks where so huge that their movement range was rather small, and as the war progressed they didn't have enough oil, so self-healing would be kinda "wrong" aswell.

Personally, i'd rather like to see a cannon-based UU for Germany. With superior cannon manufacturing technologies, german cannons where the non-plus-ultra in a certain timeframe. Would also fit the leader choices that are made for Germany much better... The last german "leader" that used tanks offensivly was Hitler, but Bismarck used the cannons.

From worst to best UU? :)
Would be devastating, Tanks are dominating for closing a tough game, with 3 moves they could capture cities waaay too fast..and self healing too?

If you have to wait that long to get any unique benefit at all, it SHOULD be a good benefit.

Yeah, Barb Galley Spawns need to be changed. It's gamebreaking to see them spawn early, kill your galley defenders (this is before Metal Casting) and then destroy your seafood cities.

What I would do is have Barb Galleys still spawn, but only after you can reasonably be expected to have MC. Also, Frigates and Destroyers are fair game given the appropriate time frames.

Barb galleys suck. Maybe allowing more than a 10% coastal defense bonus for defending galleys?

Yeah balancing UUs/UBs, the later in the game they come the more powerful they ought to be.

You get a 25% boost to base strength on the War Chariot; the tank equivalent would be a 35-strength UU tank, and I would argue that would still be less valuable than a War Chariot because it comes so late.

(Of course, this doesn't mean you need to make all late-game UUs OP; you could just make early-game UUs only very slightly stronger or just different but equally valuable to the normal unit)

Speaking of galleys, you'd think their counter would have a better chance of defeating them. Especially when they don't do anything else, they have the same movement, require much better technologies, and there's no naval training at this point.

I fervently agree; I love the more quirky UU's that involve some sort of trade-off. I also agree that with great patience should come great power ;). I guess the other way to do it is split when the UB should come--have some civs with early UB's, late UU's and some vice versa.
