Wiz05 - Basic OCC

Got it.

This being monarchy, you may even get a decent shot at Hanging Gardens. Thats as much culture as the Great Library.

Sorry for the delay guys, with my birthday this weekend it's been hectic. I'll play & post in the AM. :)

No problem. :)

Happy birthday! [party]

But why are you still using your Christmas avatar, it's already past New Year...:hmm:

Preturn- looks good. Luckily that foreign citizen has already converted to mother Russia.

Military Report- 2 workers, 3 scouts, 3 warriors.
Diplo: We’re up techs on everyone, except Gandhi(has IW).

Bump back research from 80% to 50%, still due in 3.

1- Pop a hut, 25g.

2- bump back research.

IT- Learn Writing, since the quickest we can learn Lit is 34 turns I start on Lit at min research.

3-

4- Pass on establishing embassies. No ones met anyone else, hum. Offer Gandhi contact with Cleo for IW, but he wants writing as well. I don’t think so.

5-

6-

7- Temple>spear
Everyone except Egypt now has Iron Working.
Persia has contact with Aztecs.
Give Gandhi Cleo’s phone number for IW.
There is 0 iron anywhere near us.

8- Moscow’s culture expands.

9- Spear>Pyramids

10- Persia & India build cities 1 tile away from each other, but still haven’t met.
Gandhi is up Myst.
Trade Myst for Contact with Persia, 1gpt, & 3gold.

11-

12-

13- Persians start the Pyramids.

14- Meet the Aztecs, they’re behind Masonry & Alphabet. Have dyes, 44g, & 5 cities.

15-

End o’ Turn Report
*Alls looking good, you might wanna established an embassy with Persia in about 15 turns to check on their pyramids progress. The CAN’T complete the pyramids before we research Lit, otherwise we’ll lose our cascade & eat a 300 shield barracks.

save

Looks very good, nice turns. :goodjob:

I had a quick look at the save, and there are no worries that Persia will complete the Pyramids any time soon (Persepolis is size 1). Since we are just about garaunteed to get the Great Library, we should make appropriate preparations for the impending Golden Age. We don't want to be stuck building wealth during the GA, so we might want to continue research toward another useful wonder. Alternatively, we could just save gold from research, turn off science, and try to build the Oracle for extra culture. In either case, Moscow should be as large as possible to get the most out of our GA, so keep some extra food coming into the box.

If you crank research on Literature to maximum (reducing lux tax to 10%) it would be completed in 17 turns @ -7gpt instead of in 29 turns. If we additionally build a regular library after the Great Library, it is concievable that we might be able to research Polytheism and Monarchy first using the extra GA income and snag the more useful Hanging Gardens with a Pyramids/Oracle prebuild.

I couldn't see Persepolis on the map, but I completly forgot about F10(which I'm sure is what you used).

I also agree with your research plan & plans for our GA.

Yes, very good plans. :)

Hmm... Seems like Affirmative has forgotten this game... I'll PM him.

Hmm... seems like Affirmative hasn't realised this game at all even as I sent him a PM... I'll take the turns today or tomorrow.

The turnlog:

Preturn: Ok, let's see how we are doing... looks very good. :)

1625BC [1]: Move units around.

1600BC [2]:

1575BC [3]: Looks very good, we are ahead in techs, nobody has writing and noone has anything we don't. :) BTW, this is gonna be quite difficult in one way- we don't have any luxuries around here...:(

1550BC [4]: Pop a hut and get a warrior.

1525BC [5]:

1500BC: [6]:

1475BC [7]: We lose a warrior to a barb in a camp.

1450BC [8]:

1425BC [9]:

1400BC [10]: too many sleep smilies...

1375BC [11]: We get 50 gold from a goody hut.

1350BC [12]: n/a

IBT: The Chinese are also building the Pyramids.

1325BC [13]: Nothing really.

1300BC [14]: Nothing to tell.

1275BC [15]: The Pyramids comes in 15, lit in 14. Next player can adjust the science to get it faster if you wanna.

And I'm too lazy to upload, so I have a nice attachment here: :D

1275 BC (0)
Move the workers to riverside tiles, but leave the slider settings as they are.

1225 BC (2)
Move the closest scout to Moscow toward the city for disbandment as we have mapped most of the continent. Moscow grows to size 9.

1125 BC (4)
Pop a hut in the south which give Horseback Riding. Sell contact with Persia to India for 102g, sell contact with Egypt to Azteca for 32g, sell contact with China to Persia for 66g.

1025 BC (9)
Moscow grows to size 10 after being set for 6 food per turn in the previous turns. Both of our distant scouts have been killed by barbarian horsemen.

925 BC (14)
We complete the minimum research on Lit and set maximum research on Polytheism, due in 18 turns.

900 BC (15)
The Great Library completes in Moscow triggering a Golden Age :D. Disband a scout in Moscow and the regular library ordered next is due in 2 turns rather than 3. We have an exclusive on Literature, and will get Map Making from the Great Library next turn.

Polytheism is now due in 12 turns @ -4gpt (the time to research will diminish when Moscow grows and we complete the library). We have over 500g in the treasury, so we can deficit reseach all the way to Monarchy for the Hanging Gardens. I think we can even build the Oracle (would take 15 turns) before the Gardens for a total of 4 high culture Ancient Age Wonders.

Golden Moscow

Excellent turns! :goodjob:

Man, if we get the Oracle and the HG, we are very well doing.

Sorry guys. :(

I didn't know this game was going to happen, and then I got sick. Fun stuff.

Good turns. :goodjob:

But what do you mean with this?

The GL produces 6cpt, not two.

Too bad we didn't get the Oracle, but I guess we'll manage.

Well, at least we got the Great Lighthouse :). Once we have nothing else to build, we can crank out a galley or two to find the other continent (which will contain only 2 civs). The Golden Age is going to end in 4 turns, so watch out for a drop in luxury tax happiness.
