WNESX-2: A New Fresh Restart

Thank you.

I don't worry about the downturn in trade. The loss of trade from the Indus valley should revive once we start seeing civilizations rise there again. Until then, I'll just have to diversify a bit. Besides, I like to play the underdog.

I'm still debating whether to play though, as I don't know how much time I'll have once the game I'm running starts up. I'll respond within a few days with a definite answer.

Ilion (a.k.a. Troy) is already taken.

Also, start joining in bloody Europe and China already! :p

This seems interesting, I think I will wait until Italy opens and start up Rome if that is ok with you.

Waiting for other regions to open up is for the wusses. ;) There are always many civilisations you could create elsewhere and run into the ground while waiting for the regions you're interested in to open up.

A very true statement. And I have a feeling Warman would tolerate wacky joke civilizations. I shall brainstorm some ideas, but unless I can think of something particularly engaging, I'll just sit back and bide my time.

EDIT: But you should be updating!

Another try...

Athens (dldnjstjr)
Government: Sovereign Monarchy
Background: City state founded on south eastern part of Greek peninsula.

Ok, here's my background for Bulgare:

Nation Background: A small tribal confederation, Bulgare was created when the large Bulga tribe made an alliance (via marriage) with the Thrakia tribe. From there they built the medium sized city of Plokski, the new capital of the Bulgare empire. The tribe is ruled by a Chieftan named Krumski, and the tribe is run by a tribal council led by members of the warrior class.

Alright I'll try and get the update in tomorrow or Tuesday.

Dilmun (Fulton)
Age: Bronze(?)
Government: Kingdom
Total Economy:
-Commerce: Even with the downturn in trade, not an insignificant
-Industry: I expect this to be relatively high
-Agriculture: Probably not too high, it's a rather small state
Army: Small, professional and mercenary
Navy: The focus of the military
Infrastructure: No suggestion
Culture: No suggestion
Technology Rating: No suggestion
Background: Dilmun is an island kingdom based, unsurprisingly, on the island of Dilmun (OTL Bahrain). Dilmun's population is small, but so is its size. Dilmun's small cities have high populations and are relatively advanced. Local agriculture is enough to feed the locals, but not much more. Industries in the city are fed by imported raw resources. This trade had led to great trading contacts with the surrounding barbarians and the finished products have been shipped to all corners of the Sea of Dilmun (OTL Persan Gulf). While the reliance on this trade has collapsed due to the fall of the Indus valley civilizations, the rise of new cultures may herald the beginnings of a new age of trade. Dilmun is declining, but it is due to external factors, not internal decay. A competent string of rulers could see Dilmun on the rise again.

The Kings of Dilmun are also the high priests. The king is the intermediary between the people and all of their Gods. There is no state religion, and in fact, all religions are tolerated so long as their recognize the supremacy of the King as their link to the divine. The people of Dilmun are cosmopolitan and all that is required to be considered Dilmuni is to learn the language and accept the King as sovereign. As such, Dilmuni are open to new ideas and are excellent diplomats. However, it also makes for a slightly unstable culture that is always changing, for good or for ill.

Update 0 - 1500 BC

Good!

From: The Lydian King Heraclius III
To:The City of Ilion

The Hittite Empire is a big danger for our countryes: I propose an alliance versus The Hittite, to destroy and conquer them.

Similar to EQs; your economy will expand or contract as events transpire. Some ways you can directly affect economic growth is expansion, developing infrastructure, and learning new technology. Enacting certain policies can also affect your economy (for example beginning to clearcut lands could increase industry...until you realize theres no trees left.)

Certain of my stats are missing. I'll do up my orders as soon as they are done.

Also, could I have the site of my capital moved to the Island of Bahrain?

Thanks.

EDIT: Also, what are the names of the dark blue and teal nations directly north of me? I take it the dark blue is Babylonia?

Fixed. Also blue is babylon, green is elam

@Warman17: Does technology go up automatically, or does it need economic intervention?

Technology will advance very slowly automatically, shifting across borders. But there will need to be an area of original innovation and this requires spending.
