Was Wordle the golden Goose that died upon being bought out? I've not really heard any buzz about it since.

Eh... The earlier focus makes it a bit more familiar, but it's kinda the same problem as the modern Heardle- either you get it immediately from the first second or so or you don't get it at all. I knew the 60's and 90's ones but had absolutely no idea on the 70's and 80's ones and adding more of the song didn't help at all.
Well, it spawned a thousand variants, which has been entertaining. I still do Wordle, Dordle, Quordle, Worldle, Nerdle, Binerdle, Yeardle and PopCultured each day.
That's mostly true, yes, but at least four a day gives you a chance to get at least one.

I lost today's wordle. I had 2 yellows and a green to start. Got stuck in one of this 3 green letter traps.
I think it's now become more of a stable for many people

Done Wordle/Quordle a couple of times in the past couple of weeks, but didn't document them. Today's Wordle was an irritating 5-er, because I had 4 greens by guess 3, and then took another 2 guesses to find the right word...
Quordle went 4/8/5/6, because despite some smart guesswork (if I do say so myself!) for the first three, I had nothing left for the last word except all the weird consonants (Q, J, V, Y...), and I just could not figure out the answer until after making a knowingly wrong guess

Today's Wordle-solution was a total BS. I got it in 5 (Hard Mode), but even so...
Quordle was interesting, though... Got the last on my 8th guess, but could have been 5/6/4/7 if I'd been smarter

The thread name reminds me of "Ye orlde Worlde" Aiiiiii that's what me thinks it is ! Got today's in 4 (on honorary Hard Mode): my third guess was a known false, but was also the only word which occurred to me that sort-of-fit my first two guesses and tested 3 different additional letters. Needless to say, there was a more obvious possibility, which did not occur to me until afterwards...
