World of Tanks Beta

My garage is terrible honestly. Wolverine, Pz. Mk. IV, T-28, BT-7, M4E4

On the upcoming patches: does anyone have the list of tanks that will give you an extra slot if you have them in your inventory? Just wondering.

No, but I think it was for any tanks they were "splitting" into two separate tanks on the tech tree. The KV-1 is still one I believe (KV-1 will split into KV-1 and KV-2).

I think this is the real deal:

Quoting the Overlord:

The transition procedure will be handled in the following way:

Players who have a M26 Pershing in their garage at the time of the revision will have it replaced with a M46 Patton, with the respective module setup (possibly with some renaming) keeping their progress and old crew.
Players who have a T23 in their garage at the time of the revision will have it replaced with a M26 Pershing in its new status, with the respective module setup (possibly with some renaming) keeping their progress and old crew.
No additional refunds are planned.

• T34 will be substituted for M103.
Players who have a T34 in their garage at the time of the revision will have it replaced with a M103 with the respective module setup and a 100% crew.

3. USSR Tech Tree

• KV will be separated into KV-1 and KV-2.
Players who have a KV in their garage at the time of the revision will have it replaced with a KV-1. The KV’s crew will be trained for the KV-1.
Additionally players who have researched KV-2’s turret for KV will get a KV-2 with an extra garage slot and the KV-2 will be assigned a 100% crew.
Undistributed experience from KV can be transferred to either KV-2 or to KV-1 on demand.
No additional refunds are planned.

• KV-3 moved to tier 7 and the introduction of T-150.
Players who have a KV-3 in their garage at the time of the revision will get a KV-3 in its new status with its existing module and research setup and its old crew. Additionally they will also get a T-150 with a stock setup, extra garage slot, and 100% crew.

Players who have an IS-4 in their garage at the time of the revision will get an IS-4 in its new status with old crew, plus they will also get an Object 252 with 100% crew with an extra garage slot. Undistributed experience will remain on Object 252, however can be transferred to a new IS-4 on demand.
No additional refunds are planned.

Draft Procedure of module substitution for IS-4:
If a player had IS-4’s engine researched, the same engine will be researched for both the new IS-4 and Object 252 (or the analogue of this engine if changed).
Radios, turrets, and suspensions will be treated in the same way. IS-4 and Object 252 will have the same modules installed as those previously mounted on old IS-4 or their analogues if changed. Guns, if changed, are likely to be treated in the same way.

Note: Installed equipment and modules in depot for the vehicles affected by the revisions will be sold at their buying price. Some minor changes are still possible but overall concept will remain untouched.

Stay tuned and follow the updates!

Kv3, IS3, IS4, T32, VK3001P

That stock Vk3001P was just something. And they put the long 75mm cannon behind the tracks and turrets upgrades.
Just down to just 4Mil now (but have a rammers and vents in my deport)

I'm going to try hard to get a KV-1 and KV-2, and also the KV-3/T-150 if possible :D

The first of the "free slots" is the German Panther !
Hence my rushing down the German Medium line at the cost of US heavy line.

You wont have trouble reaching the KV1 given that the update for Russians are a while away. Nonetheless KV is the current king of tier 5 tanks with its mean 107mm. You'll want it in your garage as a money making tank.

bah, I never cared much for the german medium line. VK36 and the KT are solid tanks, tiggy is pretty bad, pz IV doesn't really stand out compared to the KV... and the mediums themselves are all horrible, horrible grindfests

It's definitely feasible, though making it mobile is a bit of grinding, and you have a howitzer vs. gun line to sort out for your preference. I think I err on the side of going howitzer to grind out all the modules, then crowning it with the best gun.

I've decided to try and grind out the A20 since the T34 will be premium with the credits boost.

Magaed to grind up to tier 7 ut the game is getting less fun due to increasing aounts of xp to grind, the borked MM and the way progression is designed. Yay a new stock tank that is worse than the older one u had.

The T34, as in, the American tank :mischief:

 Well you saved me from re-buying a A20. I kind of wondered why the Russians would have a M103 numbering for a tank! :)

I removed the stupid crosshair blackout !!!
No more horride glass eye effect when zoomed in.

WoT is holding a competition to guess at tank silhouettes.

The first thirteen randomly selected winners will get gold prizes; more details can be found here

I knew 9 of them exactly dead-on and had a good guess at the last one, hopefully it was right :p

My grind towards the ISU-152 is almost complete, but then I have to wait for my friends to get tanks of the same tier. Usually mixing tiers in platoon doesn't end up in very good matchmaking.

A 1 tier difference isnt bad as long as none of you are artillery. Rate artillery as two tiers higher than what it actually is. Here lately my friends and I have been in tier 5/6 type tanks, and more often than not get into matches where tier 7 is the top tier. Thats not too bad considering.

Had an interesting experience in my Hotchkiss the other day....for the first time I was in a match with several tier 3's, despite that I was the highest rated tank on my side. Every match I've had in the past few months with my Hotckiss is 1st and 2nd ranked tank (usually another Hotchkiss), but no tanks are over tier 2.

So I'm deducing that the Matchmaker has had some tweaks to it. Anyone else seen something like that?

I haven't playes low tier matches so can't say for sure if the matchmaking has been tweaked. I just hope it would stop placing my T-34 in Tier 9-8 matches.

New tanks I've got now include Panther, IS and Hetzer.

Hetzer isn't as bad as I had originally thought. Especially with the 10,5cm gun you can do some serious damage and it seems it's low profile makes it hard for the enemy to spot.

I'm struggling with the IS. I think it requires a different playstyle from what I'm used to. Any hints are welcome.

I haven't played a lot with the Panther because it's so easy to lose money with it and I'm trying to save for a T-43. I've got it almost fully upgraded, missing only the best engine and so far I like it.

If you dont mind the hetzer, then you will love the Stug III.

As for the IS, its a great tier 7 tank fully upgraded. I consider it only slightly inferior to the T-29 (fully upgraded) and much better than the Tiger. But until you get the big gun, it can be hard to hang with the larger tanks. If you are the top tier tank in a match, then you will probably be lead tank on a push - just be aware of the tactical situation and dont rush out on a flank alone. Heavy tanks are masters of the field, bar none, but alone they can be overwhelmed by smaller tanks. In larger battles you are more support for the even heavier tanks, and again, might have problems getting through their armor so make sure and take 10 to 20 rounds of HE just in case. Use HE when facing the front of anything larger than yourself, and AP for side/rear shots. Also, in larger battles, your better speed can sometimes enable you to chase down med tanks that break past the line. Again, dont hesitate to do this, as protecting your arty while eliminating enemy guns is important to getting more wins. In thinking of advanced crew training, I usually always go camo for all crew members as I often use my heavy tanks as a forward tank destroyer: I motor up to the lead and find some cover to hide in and watch the mini-map to see how things develop. If the enemy pushes hard on the flank i'm not on, I decide to either push foward and attack or fall back to defend. I would also recommend you buy the large caliber gun rammer as soon as you can - its critical for getting the most that you can out of those big guns.

Russian heavies have bad spotting distance though, isn't that true?
