cool! could it be reflecting the coastline though?

I asked my wife about this, she told me that mirages are very good in three places in China, two in Shandong (including this one) and another in the Gobi desert. She doesn't believe it was faked, although I, as a cynic, think it's suspicious that it happened during the Labour day holidays.

Nice catch OP.:)

Very cool! Don't know. Haven't really studied mirages.

that is insane!!! I hope it's real....

Cool - i am really curious what is causing that ... but what city is seen in the mirage ?

Wait. Is a mirage like a mirror, it reflects something right? So since the mirage was of a city, it must be reflecting a city on the opposite side of the water or something. If the claim is that a detailed mirage of a city appeared randomly, that it doesn't reflect something, then there's no way I believe it.
How could water particles in the air randomly create an image of a city, there is no way that could happen.

Very cool mirage. Wonder what city it is that's being reflected? Probably on the Liaodong peninsula...

I'm not too skeptical, our atmophere can produce some spectacular optical effects.
