We’ve seen quite a few works of ingenious architecture, enough to state this is one of them. Keret House is a project envisioned by Jakub Szczęsny of Centrala, soon to be developed in a narrow void between the buildings on 22 Chłodna Street and 74 Żelazna Street in the district of Wola, Poland. Keret House is said to have an interior that will vary between 122 centimeters and 72 centimeters, making it an extremely narrow crib. With a total area of 14,5 square meters, the new house will accommodate a workspace as well as a guest studio. The project was especially created for Isreali writer Etgar Keret who believes this type of interior will provide great work conditions. In case you were wondering, electricity will be ensured by a neighboring building. And yes, the stairs will be retractable and controllable through a remote. Even though we are intrigued by this original living solution, you have to admit such a design is not for everybody. How do you find it?

Funny, but not big enough to fit my whole life in. Would be good enough if I was a student though. The bathroom reminds me of my bathroom in my dorm in Japan. :)

Terrible idea.

Would probably be an OK concept if the cost of building it were to be proportionate to its apparent crappyness. But it probably won't be.

I saw a program where they showed all these thin and small buildings in Tokyo, like that one in the OP. I thought it was really fascinating. I would really like to try out a building like that for a time. I like small spaces. It's more cozy. And there's less to clean.

This is really cool, but like Defiant said, it will probably cost way too much.

Not much of a view. If the window were somewhat bigger, I'd get into it.

It looks like the bathroom is a wet room, which isn't much good. Also, you'd want to make sure your neighbours on each side weren't noisy, because there really is no escape in that house.

That said, I'd definitely live in such a place, if it were cheap (although Defiant is probably right to be cynical about that. The retracting staircase looks like it might cost a pretty penny).

I once checked out an apartment in Greenwich Village where I could nearly reach wall-to-wall.

But that was too claustrophobic for me, never mind this arrangement.

A wide person would probably get stuck

As far I can tell there isn't a shower or you shower in a room with the toilet in it..

There also doesn't appear to be room for a fridge or a TV, unless you hang it on an angle on the ceiling facing the bed, which could be cool.
