Far too few of the Wonders justify the immense investment required.

It only took them till the second patch to appreciate this ;)

Decreased production costs of Wonders progressively
  • From the Industrial era (about -10%) to the Atomic era (about -40%)
For shame kampori!

Actually, I think you misinterpret the intention with this change. The idea behind this change, as I see it, is not to make wonders cheaper. This change balances out the fact that industrial zone area effects no longer stack. That is why this only kicks in from Industrial era, and progressively. Most likely, we'll see effective production time of the wonders being roughly the same, because you'll have lower production to match the reduced cost.

I didn't like The Great Lighthouse in Civ IV but in Civ V and Civ VI turned into a useless wonder. What may one expect of a big lighthouse?

I assume you didn't like it in Civ IV as it was too overpowered, because it's one of the very best Wonders in that game.

So many good candidates

Huey Teocalli and Chiczen Itza are rarely useful, if even buildable on most maps.
The great lighthouse feels like it offers little, especially because you don't need the sea movement and admirals to easily beat the AI in naval wars. While navy itself feels weak because all the good cities are inland.
The mahabodhi temple is a terrible way to invest production into anything. Missionaries are only really useful for religious victories, and if you're dedicated to that, you won't need two more.
Some of the late game culture wonders have too small effects to even be noticeable. I don't even remember what they do.
The hanging gardens has almost no impact when it hits, since you're usually housing/amenity capped until the lategame.
The Venetian Arsenal, while really strong (OP) on say multiplayer naval maps, ends up doing very little in most singleplayer games, because you'll never make up for the production necessary for it.
The great library, while it has the writing slots, feels wrong to build because you can never make use of its boosting ability. Not to mention that you usually don't want to build campuses that early with the current state of balance.

What do people think now that Wonders cost less?

Nice change, but unsure why they're only really tackling late game wonders. Some of the ancient/classical ones could've used some love too. It definitely moves these much higher up my priority list though ,especially since districts and units are still incredibly expensive late game.

I would prefer the Statue of Zeus or the Stonehenge of antiquity.

Those are some odd wonders to pursue in the context of Civ IV. Are you sure you're not thinking of Civ V?

Great Lighthouse was somewhat situational but very powerful with lots of coastal cities.

Yes. If you have a lot of coastal cities it works but I still would prefer another wonders. In any case I think that the Great Lighthouse is worse than the Great Library in Civ VI despite the production cost.

I quite like them all except Great Lighthouse. It would be better if like CiV it gave you a free lighthouse. It's pretty naff.

Hanging Gardens is infinitely better. I'd probably say the best wonder in game; and can be built by like turn 30.

Seems to be a truism of Civ games that the Hanging Gardens tends to be the best or one of the best Wonders.

Factory stacking aside from what I remember most of the late game wonders felt like more production than they should be, so that's a welcome change. Doesn't make any change in my opinion though since most of my votes were for early era wonders.

I've always considered the Hanging Gardens to be rather weak in VI though, considering the effect of housing on growth for the early to midgame.
