It never happened so there is not way of determining on how it will be.Unless there is some kind of way of imprisoning every single inhabitant on the face of the earth in some kind of controlled environment, then it can happen maybe.

Cultural assimilation has happened CONSTANTLY in the past. It's still happening today, and towards an US culture at that.
This is just a natural result of communication and globalization, the only difference is that we can now do that worldwide. But in the past cultural assimilation was much more local, not because people were hell-bent on preserving their culture, but simply because communication tools were rather limited.
I mean the French culture is actually a big melt of regional cultures (Brittany, Provence, Occitan, etc.), each of them in turn have assimilated smaller cultures in the past. It would be quite hypocritical for me to reject having the French culture assimilated...

The thing is,Masq, that cultures is allways in the becoming to be something else with some of its elements branching out into subcultures which live to grow into something else or die out.

No matter what the process of being is allways in the process of no end.
