See thread title. Eating bugs kind of wigs people out, but other people eat them without thinking it's weird. And I guess people eat them even though they do think it's weird.

Bug eating is okay with me. If I am outdoors and a small bug invades my drink, I don't mind eating it. Big bugs I wouldn't be so cavalier about having in my drink, that's too many lumps for a drink. A large bug might be okay if it was a good eating-bug, I'd give it a shot if it were prepared as food. I'd also eat a bug without hesitation if it were offered and declining would be rude.

EDIT: I meant dragonflies, not horseflies, in the poll. Oops.

If it were prepared, totally would. If it was delicious, I'd eat it a second time.

No, that's disgusting. If there's something weird floating in my drink, I'm going to complain.

I'd also eat a bug if I was properly drunk.

Ooh, I forgot drunk! I think I'd be less likely to eat a bug while drunk.

I'd be more likely to eat it, but also more likely to puke it back out, I fear

We always eat bugs... that's part of our daily meals: meat, yoghourts, cheese, salad... we find bugs and larvas regularly in those plates. Even if of course, most of the time they are very tiny as I doubt anyone would eat a month-old piece of steak.

Hmm, if it didn't look like a bug and it's delicious, then why the hell not. It could even look like a bug as long as it's tastefully presented. Deep-fried scorpion on a stick might be a favorite of mine.

I don't mean bacteria and tiny bugs we can't even see, I mean reasonably-sized bugs that you're aware you're eating. (Yeah, you're aware you're eating yogurt, but that's not what I mean!)

Also, if I were at a restaurant and there was a bug in my food or drink, that's different from being in my friend's backyard and having a gnat land in my drink. One isn't okay, the other is.

I'm a programmer, I eat bugs for a living.

Bugs are just small lobsters. And lots of people eat lobsters.

I'd eat bugs to avoid starvation (anyone who thinks otherwise is lying to themselves) and I would probably eat them to be polite, though things like centipedes might be a bit too much for me.

I have eaten a witchetty grub. They are quite a delicacy out here, especially if you are out in the bush. They tasted like peanuts. That was when I was in highschool. But generally I would not eat bugs, but only under life threatening situations.
