In NZ we can get creative with potato chips and chocolate flavours.

Every now and then you get a dud though such as lamington flavoured chips. How about this one?

Decades ago when Lay's used to be Hostess, they had a Fries & Gravy flavor.

They were wonderful, and I'm very annoyed that London Drugs keeps including them on their website but they aren't available for ordering.

No the important thing though. Would Maddy eat them . Or sit on you while you are them?

Since Maddy has often gotten into my chips and eaten some (she favors BBQ flavors of corn chips and potato chips; interestingly, so did one of the dogs we had - with added dill pickle dip in his case, if you please), it would not surprise me if she were to sneak a chip and at least try it. It's a fact that french fries are among the foods I've had to keep away from the cats over the years, either because they liked to eat them, or in the case of Gussy, play hockey with them (french fries became his new prey after a disastrous attempt to catch and kill a bee; it stung him and his paw was swollen to half again its normal size for a few days; this was in the summer of 1994).

I am not, and have never been any flavor of potato chip, so your second question doesn't apply. :p She'll jump up on me when I'm eating egg salad, pizza, pudding, cheese, or fish. She expects a share of those, but doesn't often get it.

My honest opinion is that potatoes & gravy-flavored chips are great. If you have the chance to try it, you should. It's a pleasant, savory flavor that pleases the taste buds without being overwhelming. Or at least that's what I remember of the Lay's version. They also made wonderful pizza-flavored chips, that were very different from the stuff Pringles has.

I'm definitely getting them to try as that company name awesome chips. We like their green onion, chicken and sour cream flavours. Their BBQ is ok but we rarely get that flavor.

I would send you a bag but the postage is killer.

I would.

Sounds pretty nice and actually quite normal. At least compared to some of the weird gimmicky flavours of crisp I've had the misfortune of trying in recent years, including things like "Prosecco" or "Christmas Tree".

Prosecco is ham flavoured?

No, you're thinking of proscuitto. Prosecco is cheap fizzy wine flavoured. And bloody awful. Both the wine and the crisps.

The Christmas tree ones weren't as bad. They tasted a bit piney, but mostly just salty. But quite a bit worse than just salted crisps, so not something I'm going to try again.

Yeah that sounds bad.

Lamb and mint was one of my least favorites. It did actually taste like lamb and mint.

Apparently there's a new flavor of Pringles chips: honey mustard. It sounds revolting.

Honey and mustard makes a surprisingly good combo, which is in the meantime used in lots of places.
I wouldn't know for chips though, but might be worth a try too.

Never heard of Heartland chips before, so I'd say no, mainly because I'm not familiar with them.

Generally speaking, when it comes to chips flavours, I don't trust the so-called meat flavours, especially chicken.

It's difficult to know in advance when it's Pringles. Some varieties are much sweeter than other brands, and sometimes more acidic. Pringles current BBQ flavor tastes more like their mesquite BBQ flavor did many years ago. The ketchup flavor isn't bad. I really liked the hot dog-flavored Pringles.

I'm wary of this one, though, because I'm not generally fond of mustard.

I was expecting something like meat covered in honey :)
We're talking about potato chips. They don't contain real meat.

Hostess also had a fried chicken flavored variety. It was yummy.

I tend to cycle through a series of preferred chip flavors. Most recently it was BBQ corn chips, and before that it was ketchup. With ketchup you have to get the right balance between sweetness and vinegar, while keeping a distinctive tomato flavor.
