No, no, no, no, no, and again no. Enforced atheism never works.

It is good to see that the Atheists here are not rabidly so. :)
I know there would be a minority of Atheists that would rabidly support oppressing the religious people.

I am glad that I can worship as a please without being persecuted :).

It would be interesting to see a comparable poll for a religious theocracy.

No because I believe in freedom of religon. They should be allowed to worship in peace just as long as they stay out of politics.

No aTheocracy for me, it'd be a pain to enforce and would be resisted to the death by some. Best to let people have their beliefs as long as they don't hurt others.

Even if there was an Atheist Theocracy, I would still have my own personal Kamidana (With Jesus and my Patron Saint in it) in my house ;).

And they would martyr you in private. They would hate all religion, and would murder a religious person on sight.

secularism is great, but a society that banned religion probably wouldn't be. besides its no concern of mine if if you want to believe in a god

The term "atheistic theocracy" seems meaningless to me, because there is no theology or coherant moral system for atheism. Atheism is too inclusive a term for theocracy to come out.

The Communist Soviet Union did it. They persecuted the Russian Orthodox Christians as well as taking away the churches. Sounds like Atheist Theocracy to me.

The good part of the Shinto component in my belief system is that I can practace it discreetly ;).

I've never heard of anyone describing the Soviet Union as an "atheistic theocracy" before. I'm pretty sure their society was designed around the idea of communism, instead. :)

Not really, they were more antireligion then a theocracy. There is no atheist theology or holy books. The tenants of the Soviet Union did not come from atheism but from other sources.

Theocracies are always bad. They really hold back the potential of people by spending effort persecuting the ones that don't conform. So... I won't support it.

Results are kind of lopsided, aren't they? Not a single person religious or not supports an Athiest theocracy. And no one has even picked the radioactive monkey option yet!

communists were following the communist manifesto, their ideology was communism. atheism lacks rules, regulations, and structure to call it a religion or base a "theocracy" around it
