WTC Mosque Part Four!!!

Yeah, in their own effing country.

Ah, so terrorism against americans is ok as long as its not on american soil...

Still haven't been able to find an actual governmental body, other than the Israelis, who officially question the findings of the UN organization tasked with investigating the incident?

Actually, the UN Human rights counsel wasnt tasked with that investigation. It went ahead with its own 3 attorney panel...the 'official' UN investigation is still ongoing.

You did know that....right?

So you are going to respond to your previous red herring, trying to obviously attack my credibility instead of addressing the issues, with yet another?

The United Nations' Human Rights Council is specifically tasked by the UN to look into such matters. Do you actually have any evidence to the contrary?

So you are going to respond to your previous red herring, trying to obviously attack my credibility instead of addressing the issues, with yet another?

Thats not another red herring Form....there actually is an ongoing 'official' UN investigation that hasnt been published yet.

Why would that fact be a red herring in response to you saying what you did? Its obvious the UN human rights counsel wasnt 'tasked' by anyone to look into the matter - it did so itself, and from your own link apparently some in the Presidents admin think its 'tone and conclusions unbalanced'.

Ah well.

Me, I dont think how you can call it non-biased when its only based on one sides perspective. Doesnt sound very fair to me at all.

Trying to change the subject by mentioning something that is obviously not germane to the subject to specifically attack my credibility certainly is. That's twice now.

Its obvious the UN human rights counsel wasnt 'tasked' by anyone to look into the matte...
It is "obvious" that this is the job which they always been "tasked" to perform.

The <drum roll> UN?

http://www2.ohchr.org/english/bodies/hrcouncil/

The Human Rights Council is an inter-governmental body within the UN system made up of 47 States responsible for strengthening the promotion and protection of human rights around the globe. The Council was created by the UN General Assembly on 15 March 2006 with the main purpose of addressing situations of human rights violations and make recommendations on them.

The <drum roll> UN?

So, the UN sent the UN Human Rights counsel a memo tasking them to investigate it?

Ah..you mean those guys that are running their on investigation on that matter? Those guys?

Why are they doing their own investigation then?

Sounds a bit redundant to me...

"How about if you make the whole building a community centre with a prayer room inside, instead of the whole building being a mosque instead?"

I read an article (linked from the Cordoba Institute Facebook page) in which someone suggested that making the whole thing some sort of interfaith center would be a reasonable compromise. I commented that sure, he had a point, but let's set aside one room so that those of the same religion as the people who built this can have a prayer room . . .:mischief:

Kind of like that fictional mosque inside the Pentagon? Remember when people were pointing that out like it was fact?

What does that even mean? Are you claiming park51 isn't really going to have anything other than a mosque in it?

I meant that having a token space for some supposed interfaith thingy isnt much of a concession.

It has the potential to be a mitigating factor, but how serious is it?

Ah, so terrorism against americans is ok as long as its not on american soil...
No, it means it wasn't in New York or anywhere in the country and so there's not reason for them to be offended. We've already been through this.

I swear to god you're arguing for the sake of arguing.

Except that you have it backwards, because the majority of the building won't be a mosque. That was the point - this guy's "compromise" was actually what was already being done.

And what does this have to do with the "alleged" Pentagon mosque? Now I am just confused . . .

So Americans shouldnt be offended at Americans killed in Beirut for example?

I swear to god you're arguing for the sake of arguing.

Nope, I am merely following your chain of logic here...

"Token space", "supposed interfaith".

I think you already have decided how serious it is.

Unless convinced otherwise, why wouldnt I think that?

Or is it your experience that Mosques in general are quite accepting of other relgious thought/beliefs/expression?

Unless convinced otherwise, why wouldnt I think that?
Because you also have no indication of why you would think that.

A more open minded approach until you do would seem more appropriate to me.
Or is it your experience that Mosques in general are quite accepting of other relgious thought/beliefs/expression?
Only went to a Mosque twice. Nobody had any issues with me, while I clearly wasn't a Muslim.

Same thing with me, although in this case the more relevant question is what happened if you went to a building that had a mosque in it.

So, the UN sent the UN Human Rights counsel a memo tasking them to investigate it?
No, it obviously means they have been "tasked" by the UN with investigating clearcut human rights violations such as this since their inception.

Is this another example of you own "personal definitions"?

How did they know you clearly werent a muslim? Is it something that can be determined just by looking at you?

You didnt answer why the UN is conducting another 'official' investigation....
