WW1 Real Time or PBEM

1914 Week 32...A screenshot of the Western Front at the beginning of the 3rd week of The Great War. Both France and Germany have settled into 'trench warfare' south of Brussels. Meanwhile, Germans were faced with defensive positions held by French's Corps & several BEF Inf Divs occupying land to the Northeast of the French town of Arras. Also, the French had placed several inf div to the southwest of Brussels.

I have the turn but won't be able to play it until I get home from work ... sorry for the delay.

Just wondering, since Dazz_G brought it up, what do you guys do for a living? What kind of job do you all the great leaders of WW1 have?

The Kaisers is currently a college student at Saginaw Valley State University.

What about the rest of you?

Im a high school senior at the Hill School... Im a prep, but I dont collar pop ;p

A bit complicated. I was a teacher and researcher (history) then I switched to business where I was product manager for IT products (France Telecom and two start-ups). Now I am preparing to go back to teaching (and to have more free time !).

1914 Week 35 (6th week of the war)

The past week saw heavy action for both the German Land and Sea Forces. On land the Arras Offensive continued and in sea the German Navy hunted down and sunk several enemy subs.

Arras Offensive (2nd Week):
-French City of Arras:
--1 Rail Gun, 3 Siege Guns, 11 210 MM Guns & 2 Light Artillery bombarded the city followed by an attack by Falkenhayn's 4th Corps & 13 Infantry Divisions def. 5 R Infantry Divisions, 1 T Infantry Divisions & 2 Garrisons (Fr) with a loss of 6 German Infantry Divisions.
-Northwest of Arras:
--1 210 MM GunBombarded followed by an attack of 1 Infantry Division def. 1 Infantry Division (Fr).

The Sub Hunt:[/U]
-Mid North Sea:
--6 Destroyers def. 4 Sub (Fr) & 1 Sub (Br) with the loss of 1 Destroyer (Ger).
-Lower North Sea:
--1 Dreadnought def. 1 Sub (Br) .

Kaiser Bill (me) labeled the naval engagements a German success. Meanwhile, the Kaiser stated, "The Arras Offensive is progressing nicely," and that, "there is no threat of a strong French Counter Attack so the advance will continue." Lastly, the Kaiser has announced that the newly reformed 1st Corps, formerly under command of Paul von Hindenburg, will be put in the field under the command of Remus von Wyorsh. Reportedly, Hindenburg will recieve command of 2nd Corps which will soon be reformed. Ludendorf will eventually recive command of the 3rd Corps.

Smashed up an Austrian stack; have to get dressed for classes, file sent!

No losses to austrians, just heavy bombardment; you can attack if you want, but I'll take vegas odds on that ;p

Bombarded Calais where the coastal fortress was destroyed.

West of Arras, 12 light artilleries + 8 R French Inf killed 6 R Gem Inf for two losses.
Artillery bombarded the other stacks around Arras (but cannot remember figures here).

Bombardment of Belgrade by 3 artillary pieces. 3 Italian submarines destroyed by 3 destroyers plus naval bombardment before. Venice bombarded.

The Austrian force retreated...

HUAH!

::Brushes bit of lint off shoulder::

Yeah, it was that easy ;p

ps same goes for ODT but seeing as all ODT players are in this as well, no need to post there also.

Don't worry about what your artillery does...unless it actually kills which I don't think it has the ability to do in this scenario...as far as I am concerned, that is a perfectly good battle report.

Apologies Guys ... got home 4am this morning and back into work at 9am so didn't manage to get turn played.

I have now played and sent.
