WW1 Real Time or PBEM

Russia would like to inform the world that Austria has been pooped on ;p

After Snagging the lightly defended city of Tarnesvar, slaughtering all defenders, Russian troops pushed onwards, capturing the UTTERLY UNDEFENDED cities of Budapest, Zagrab, and Ljubljana, selling all the improvements inside for a considerable profit.

We feel that this was only the beginning of our reprisal for our beloved general; PREPARE FOR DOOOOOOM!

Clearly, the cossack is not just a burninator, but is also a deadly weapon of war. YOU CANNOT STOP US AUSTRIA! WE WILL BURY YOU!

Ooo almost forgot; killed those RR building dudes outside of Tarnesvar; you know which ones Austria ;p

The slaves they brought us are now deep in Murmansk, far to the north!

Russia also spotted some damned German ships, but decided not to engage them.... mostly because our recon plane picked up some nasty looking armoured cruisers lurking just close enough to be able to wipe out the fleet of someone dumb enough to engage. Sheesh, who COULD that be?

Turkish and Austrian columns were also spotted on approach vectors to Russian cities... but they will find some nasty surprises if they get any closer.

God fights on the side with the heaviest artillery says Napoleon. I say he got it wrong. God fights on the side with the RUSSIANS! ;p

Hehehe I was laughing so hard when I saw those undefended cities! My little cossacks gobbled up as many as they could, but there were soooo many! I guess that means more for next time ;p

Game passed on to France, with the hopes that they too will experience a BRILLIANT breakthrough ;p

Unfortunately, we did not prove so brilliant... :-(

We just destroyed a small stack entrenched South of Bruxelles. 2 inf div, one armored car and one Landwher.

Losses on our sides were heavy. One div R and 5 draftees. But we could not let an elite German Inf div retreat and we hope we can hold the gound this time, at voice distance of the cries of Bruxelles women...

The Austrian command were shocked that they had underestimated the number of annoying cossacks that the Russians have but the Austrians were determined to recapture the lost cities. The new aim initially looked impossible but sometimes it seems the impossible can be achieved after lone cossack after lone cossack was destroyed as Ljubljana, Zagreb and Budapest. Tarnesvar was believed to be perhaps more heavily defended but bombardment revealed that it was almost as weak and soon Austrian troops were once again welcomed in the city only a week after it had been lost. Austrian military leaders were so furious at the attack that they continued to advance and decimated the cossack stack to the south of Tarnesvar.

To the west the bombardment continued damaging the Italian army in Venice and destroying the road to the north of the city whilst the first naval bombardment occured. Due to the Russian attack it was decided to call off the attack on Antivari as it was rumoured to have 10 units in it that would be difficult to kill in a city on a hill so the Austrian forces have set about pillaging improvements.

Yeah it was an annoying sell all raid... but I didnt think you had enough to respond to it :{

Waited till I saw a huge horde next to Antivari and then struck ;p

Oh well, guess I will just have to call up... more cossacks! ;p

Haha yeah you did I gotta admit ;p

Been messing around in single player, and realized  that the cossacks and cavalry have a MUCH higher success rate than their stats would seem to suggest. Especially with the right amount of Arty support. Oh well, more data for next time; sides, I can survive on what I have now for quite some time I think.

Ottoman battle report:

killed 1 English Maschine Gun, 1 Infantry and captured 1 Light Artillery East Salonika.

Yes I did, I mentioned it briefly.
whilst the first naval bombardment occured
To elaborate 4 or 5 ships bombarded your stack.

Also swapping 4 turns in a week isn't really what WW1 is famous for...

1914 Week 33

This week was not a particular good week for the German Military...

In the Belgium Defense:
Northeast of Arras:
-3 210 MM Guns bomarded followed by attacks by Ludendorf's 2nd Corps & Hindenburg's 1st Corps (Ger) both of which were defeated by French's Corps (Fr). However, French's Corps (Br) was reduced to 5 hit points.
Southwest of Brussels:
-8 210 MM Guns and 1 Rail Gun bombarded while attacks by 14 Inf, 3 Kav, 1 Armored Car & 1 Marine (Ger) def. 8 Inf, 1 Cav & 1 MG (Fr).

Northeast of Nancy:
-2 Siege Guns (Ger) bombarded the occupying forces (Fr).

The only naval engagement occured in the East Baltic near Helsinki:
-1 Light Cruiser bombed and 1 Light Cuiser (Ger) lost to 1 Light Cruiser (Rus).

German High Command has called off the much anticipated continuous of offensive actions indefinitely as fighting in the Belgium sector of the Western Front has been fierce.

When I finished my last turn, French's Corps only had 6 hit points left anyway :p

He started with 13 hps...He would have healed because you are on allied soil, plus I'm guessing we all have battlefield medicine. So, a 6 HP corps didn't beat a 15/16 HP corp and a 17/24 HP corp... It was a 13...10 after the artillery.

I should have bombarded a lot more!

Honestly, if I was the German Military in 1914 I wouldn't have even released this report...but, we have the Ruprecht's 4th Corps and Falkhayn's 5th Corps plus a brand new one very soon...

***TRANSFERRING PAYMENT NOW***

;p

Turn is almost finished, thinking about whether I should perform a strategic withdraw from the Balkans... if I were to... say... leave the cities with all their goodies intact... would my troops make it out alive? Or should I simply fortify, annoy, and hope for the best... I am in a bit of a dilemma here, and if the Axis were to... make a suggestion on the matter... it would certainly make things much easier to decide... say... were I to find out that I would have four or five turns to perform an unharrassed withdraw the Balkans would certainly be bereft of Russian troops within the month...

Well, it might be a bit before I finish the turn as I wait for a response... an official response.

This is pretty shaming, but it is for the good of the Russian people ;p

Actually I feel that would unbalance the game...

Just for the sake of game balance I feel that you should not concede Balkan territory for two reasons...

1-The Balkans kept fighting on through out the war...they are fighting people and fight well.

2-I am not saying that this was your plan or that you would do this, but if you withdrawl troops let them take purposely take your cities just to invade relatively quickly afterwards you both could rack up some big VPs...

This isn't game balance, but just strategy for winning the war guys... Austria-Hungary and Ottomans I advise against this plan as it would stretch out troops further and leave you more prone to an invasion...If you can take the cities legitimately do it...otherwise I wouldn't...

By the way Aeon221...if you want to just form a general retreat that is legit...but remember it is ussually very costly in terms of troop numbers to attack a defensive poition...

Yes, I know all that. I was suggesting it with some of the points you mentioned in mind. The main reason to surrender the Balkans is a hope that the war can be resolved ;p

Well, since my idea has been rejected, we will indeed go down fighting. Game sent to LL, data on play when I get a chance (say 3ish)

***One German Predred nailed to the ocean floor, others damaged.
Two German Cav killed
Bombardment of the Ottie stack
Bombardment of Austrian Trooper and... that damn city that we have been fighting over, cant remember Dell, but you know what I mean.***
