WW1 Real Time or PBEM

1914 Week 36 (7th week of war)

The German Military called of the Arras Offensive just before it entered the 3rd week due to inefficient offense capability. Germans then attacked weakened French Lines near Nancy and the result was the fiercest fighting of the war. German High Command is confident that any major enemy offensive can be repelled. However, they have called off all offensive actions INDEFINITELY.

Battle of the Nancy Frontier:
-North East of Nancy:
-- 8 210 MM Guns & 1 Siege Gun bombarded followed by 18 Infantry Divisions & 1 Marines Division (Ger) def. 2 Machine Gun Divisions & 2 Infantry Divisions (Fr) with the loss of 14 Infantry Divisions & 1 Marines Division (Ger).
-East of Nancy:
--3 210 MM Guns bombarded followed by Wyorsh's 1st Corps & 8 Infantry Divisions (Ger) def. 1 Infantry Division (Fr) with the loss of 8 Infantry Divisions (Ger).

Northwest of Arras:
-Wyorsh's 1st Corps (Ger) def. 1 Infantry Division (Fr).

Arras was bombarded by 1 Rail Gun.

North Sea:
1 Dreadnought bombarded followed by 2 Subs (Ger) def. 2 Dreadnought B Squadrons (Br) with no German losses.

Good news on the Russian front for our lovely allies!

Heavy losses for Austria:
1 Corps in Tarnesvar, bombed and killed for 0 Russian casualties; the General who committed this unheard of feat (at least in the Russian army) is currently attending parties throughout Russia, and may be delayed indefinitely from returning to the front.

1 Turkish mine wiped out, no casualties once again. It has been an amazing week for Russia, and with the news of the heavy German losses the general sentiment is that the war will be over before the end of the year! Tarnesvar, we come for yoU!

Oh, and Tarnesvar has been heavily bombarded. HEAVILY!

What the German report forgot to tell you is that we did not leave the Nancy area undefended at all. Less troops but top officer. One behaved so well he has been put in charge of creating a new corps after the heavy casulaties of the early war.

Followed by Nivelle's corps and after a heavy bombardement of light artillery (20), he (and Nivelle) destroyed 3 of the German divisions retreating from the Arras battlefield.

Italian stack bombarded and destroyed for the loss of 3 armoured cars and a worker captured.

Played and sent.

Ottomans :

Units NE of Salonika bombarded by Cruisers then attacked by Infantry ... 1 Machine Gun and 1 Infantry destroyed for no losses.

Germany :

2 Subs of coast of Esbjerg sunk by Destroyers for loss of 1 Destroyer.

Calais bombed by Zeppelin.

Played and sent.

Battle report:

bombed Salonika and Bucharest.

Salonika lost 2 Entente Infantry and 1 English infantry.

If I attacked, my Infantry unit would be stuck in no mans land and you would probably kill him next move ... bearing in mind the number of units you destroyed last turn, I decided to err on the side of caution.

1914 Week 37 (8th week of war - early September)

The German Military's only action over the past week was the offensive push of trench lines closer to the French City of Nancy...

Battle of the Nancy Frontier:
-East of Nancy:
--1 Rail Gun, 3 Siege Guns, 12 210 MM Guns & 2 Light Artillery bombarded followed by Ruprecht's 5th Corps & 18 Infantry Divisions (Ger) def. 9 Infantry Divisions (Fr) with German losses totaling 11 Infantry Divisions.

Did you actually lose any Cossacks?

Austrian bombardment of Venice and the Belgrade area.

Not exactly a great idea to disable PM messags BK...

I lost a couple, but most of them just retreated. I did promote your fortress guy (little bastard pulled a come from behind at 1 hp three times; it was ridiculous!)

I hate when a 1 HP keeps on winning and being able to promote...Kavallerie is nice because it retreats, but it has relatively low offense and cannot possibly hope to hold a position. That has been the chief result of the recent blood bath along the western front. Using 1 move units to attack equal nearly equal one move units on fortified, hilly terrain. That and my stubborness to defeat the stack east of Nancy after a great leader popped out of it.
