WW2 Global Gold

Where should the patch be installed? I again had the same error message pop up.

Minefilieds, how do you get pass them without killing the nation who built them? I have tried bombing them, firing on them from ships, but nothing seems to work???? Does a nuke work?

Rocoteh meant the minfields to be virtually indestructible (800 hp), because he wanted to prevent the use of nonhistorical
amphibious invasions and naval actions in NW Europe. Although as the German
player you can exploit this to slowly wipe out the Royal Navy...

EDIT - And if you can't deal with that, you can always edit them out of the .biq file.

I am still receiving errors. I am confused as to what files need to be in the ww2 global gold file.

Could someone show me what files need to be in there? I am sure I am doing things wrong.

The minefields don't have any AA capability, so you can use ships or planes to bombard them down. It just takes a good deal of patience; you will miss a lot, but eventually you will get them! You can even attack with ships if you want, and since the mines are immobile, your units have a fifty/fifty chance of retreating even if they lose.I wouldn't try that though unless you are using a battleship against a red-lined mine, there really isn't any point to hurrying things. Bombard will do the job eventually.

I don't know how to fix that leaderhead bug though, sorry. What country did you play as? I've never actually finished a game with this scenario, though I've gotten quite far with many nations.

I was playing US this last game, it was 1944 39th week then came the error. I tried the French before , but didn't finish that one, :eek:Germans had pushed me out of most of France( only 1 city). :confused:I had most of Italy, all of Africa (except English areas, can't attach them), parts of Asia, and Brazil but didn't think I could get back on mainland, to many Russian and English troops and navies running around fighting Germans to even get back.:crazyeye:

:confused:Just as I was declared winner, got error:cry: file missing "art\Leaderhead\sheck_skis.pcx":nuke::sad: any fix anround?:crazyeye:

I had a look on that file. The creator of that leaderhead forgot to reduce the image to 256 colours and additionally I oversaw to rename that image in the pediaicons-entry. The same happened with the sheck_CONQS image of that leaderhead.

I reduced the colours in those graphics to 256 and fixed the palettes. The sheck_CONQS graphic also needs a change in the pediaicons-file coming with the next patch. The fixed graphics are attached below and must be copied in the art\Leaderhead folder of SOE.

Please tell me, if the file now is working and thank you very much for reporting that error.:)

You may have to use the SOE-Patch-15-04-12 it fixes that error.
The frist post has the link or try the SOE thread or here

Download the SOE-Patch-15-04-12.zip and un-zip it to the SOE folder. I hope that helps.

Welcome to the forums :)

I've been lurking this thread for some months now. Played a version of Rocoteh's WWII scenario twice a couple of years ago (as German) and wanted to try this out. It has indeed been updated well. It seems the map is more detailed now, and the addition of actual leaderheads is just what it needed. Transition of turns into weeks is another great decision, imo. In other parts it's different than I expected. I think the techtree could use some improvement. I also liked that in the old version I know the techtree continued after '45, which made the construction of AMX30's and Leopards possible.
But overall this is a very, very good campaign. Just finished with a domination victory as the Japanese in week 33 of 1944. Now I'm going to see how far I can get with the Dutch.

Can someone explain to me how the trade system in this scenario works? It seemed to me that trade is only possible via special airways and roads, leaving a lot of island-cities in the cold. However, for some reason Bangkok now shares resources with Padang, Palembang, Batavia and Surabaya, while Bangkok has only a standard airport, not a special one.

I don't know if this particular problem has been addressed already, but there is a typo in a file used by the Type 3 Chi-Nu unit, causing the game to exit. Fixing it is simply a matter of renaming the file, although I forgot which one it was.

New error: Missing entry in "Scenario\Storm over Europe C3C\text\Pedialcons.txt": WON_SPLASH_BLDG_Pentagon. The game will now exit. Having lots of fun with this scenario, thanks to everyone involved and to Civinator. Presently playing as Germany -- also Italy/Finland/small axis -- and as Japan/Thailand vs my daughter: British Empire -- and my other daughter: United States -- and France/Poland/China. Yay multiplayer.

Hi Arashimashou, welcome at CFC :band:[party] and sorry for the delay in the answer.

The trade system in this scenario is done by some of the City wonders. 30 of these wonders have airtrade and 3 have seatrade. If you see a harbour- or a plane sign at a city, it menas this city has sea- or airtrade. The names of these cities are listed in the civilopedia if you click on one of these wonders (for example the Amsterdam, the London or the Berlin City wonder or special wonder).

I will have a look into the Type 3 Chi-Nu unit.

Niminator, the Pentagon should have the "nosplash" splash. This is the entry in the pediaicons.txt:

#WON_SPLASH_BLDG_Pentagon
art\wonder splash\nosplash.pcx

If you don´t have that splash you can copy a splash with that name into the SOE\arts\Wonder Splash -folder.

Thank you all for the kind words - and: This wonderful scenario is from Rocoteh. This is only a graphical update. :)

Hi The Guardian, sorry very much for the long delay in the answer of your post.

When looking into my SOE files, that submarine should be included in the SOE mainfile.

Has anybody else problems with the RO94 Shchuka Class?

RO94 Shchuka Class folder is indeed in the SOE folders.
Not sure if something else is a problem, but the ini-file and everything looks OK.

cemo1956, thank you very much for your reply. :) So at present I suppose, that the RO94 Shchuka Class is not a problem of the SOE files.
