WW2-Global

A Yamato near Tunis!
I have never seen that reported earlier.
Really interesting.

Rocoteh

Once, Japan sent 6 Yamato's near Gibraltar, with 3 of them entering the Mediterranean - one is still there. They were just hanging around. I expected them to bombard enemy positions, but they were there just for a visit.

About 6 Otsu submarines were also there, but sailed away again. One stayed longer, and even sank 2 British Escort Carriers sailing east from Gibraltar.

Since the Italian fleet is completely wiped out, the Japanese visit was a very nice occasion for me.

Complete Unit Civilopedia update finished.

It is all done. I sent the files to Rocoteh, he will review and will make them available soon. For some reason, loading saved games may not bring up all the new civilopedia information, but it does for most of the units, and over time, it seems to show more of the new unit info. Not quite sure why, but either the game saves some of the civilopedia info somewhere, or in memory. But nonetheless, new games brings it all up, and works great. Enjoy!

I bought mine for a little under 1000...just the case with all the fun stuff inside

Q6600 Intel Quad
ASUS P5K-E Mother Board (built in wifi)
4 Gigs of DDR2 RAM
500GB HDD
NVidia 8600GT (yes I know out dated but I got it for 80 bucks and I am short on cash right now but I plan to get an 8800 GT)

Where at? Did you say it was a laptop or a desktop?

Lol that would be awesome to have all that in a Laptop. No I built my machine. Infact I had been slowly ordering the parts I needed when they were on sale for over a period of 6 months. I was strapped for cash as my car was needing a motor rebuild

A friend told me just today of a Toshiba laptop w/ a blueray/dvd/cd burner for just over $800. It never hurts to ask. :)

tom2050,

I will check out the Civilopedia-files and upload them later.
(Probably tomorrow.)

Thank you for your work with this.

Andreas68,

Interesting move from Japan-AI, very seldom (or never)
earlier reported.

Hello Rocoteh!!!
How are you? I think you have done a great job with the editing and the graphics, but you should have added more military units such as American GI's, Partisians, Polish Infantry and Cavalry, Finnish tanks, etc.. But overall great work!!:goodjob:

Just a quick qustion. After the 1945 does the game just end or will it keep going? I am doing well in the game but I think it will take a couple more years to beat the game.
Please let me know and thanks!!!
Great game!!!

The game will let you keep going even if you hit past the end marker. I do it all the time for I love global conquests...takes me back to the days of playing Risk, though Asia sucks at production >_>

EDIT:
Does anyone possibly have a saved game that they have gotten very far into and one that takes "ages" to do each turn? I want to see how much faster it is with my Quad Core so we can get a baseline or rather so I can get bragging rights :p

Week 46, 1943

Playing as Germany on medium difficulty.

North Africa

Took In Salah, Tunis, US held Tripolis and the original Italian Bisciara from the British. Invaded Egypt from the west and north with forces sailing from Crete - I conquered Alexandria, Cairo and Suez. Havong Suez is great, shortens the sea route to India, I already sent a dozen Type XXI submarines plus a 1 carrier force into the Red Sea. I plan to raid Indian cities.

Malta is conquered - the Japanese Yamato NE Tunis sailed into the Atlantic as soon as Tripoli was taken from the US, so I suspect the reason for its presence was the US possession of Tripoli - but it twice bombarded Malta before it went.

Middle East

Finally ousted the British and conquered Jerusalem, Baghdad and Kuweit. Took Mashhad, Esfahan and Ajvaz from Persia, now attacking Khorramshahr on the Persian Gulf. Plan to take Chah Bahar from Persia as well, opening up a land route to British India. Will leave Kandahar and Kabul alone for a while, being the last Persian positions then.

The East

Took Samarkand, Tashkent and Alma-ata from Russia. Now there's peace with Russia, unfortunately before I could take Kondo which would have given me a land connection to japanese held territory. But doesn't matter.

Pacific

Japan raized Port Moresby. Big mistake, as Port Moresby would have been very useful - if not essential - to threat Australia's Eastern Coast.

America

1 carrier positioned NE of St.Johns near Greenland to cover 3 transports sailing from Iceland and the Northern Approach, 3 carriers cover 6 convoys and a handful transports sailing from Brest - which brings the current total of my first wave to about 100 units. 2 carriers plus battleships are sitting in mid-Atlantic to attack any possible US battleship (one of the last 6 remaining) steaming east. About 25 Me 262 are waiting at Brest to be moved to St.Johns for air cover as soon as it's conquered. If more are needed, I move the other ones west as well (total of about 55 Me 262's). My bombers are still fighting in Middle East and Africa, but the majority (of the He-177, the older ones stay) will move to St.Johns as well. Ten Ju-488 are waiting in Ireland, more being built.

The invasion fleet will arrive at St.Johns in week 50, and then the big fight will start. The US is now focussing on building B-24 and Wildcats, now at 18 Wildcats and 11 B-24's. That's the drawback of taking Tripoli, as it was still in US hands, they sent the Liberators there to be destroyed by my bomb attacks. Now the US AI surely stores them on the east coast.

WW2-Global will run for 600 turns/weeks.

Thus beyond 1945.
