WWII Polish Rifleman

:coffee: Is that a job offer? Well, unfortunately I am a little too busy with RL stuff right now. :) I didn't mean to be critical, though. I think that your approach is quite valid (I looked at the animations in FLICster, not in game). Also, a beneficial side effect is that the unit compresses very well, which makes it easy to redistribute. In addition, I appreciate the fact that you did not re-name the sound files. It makes it so much easier when replacing them by links to the PTW extras in the ini file!

However, sometimes it is better to have one really nice unit, then 30 quickly made. I guess the fact that Balou did fiddle with every pixel that still makes his Modern Infantry stand out...

But this is a great job nevertheless! I was actually considering to use it as a replacement for the standard infantry. It is hard not to be distracted by the British helmet. :hatsoff: And then they made a 2nd version for Conquests!

The ones that are seen throughout the useful busines life of your unit have bee done according to completeness: Default (about 70% of the entire time we'll see this one), Run (11%), and Attack (another 11%) totaling about 92%.

Sorry but in the light of Death, Victory and Fidget taking 1% each of displayed animation time and with Fortify being some 5% (most units will be fortified in cities or on top of a stack in a rortified position) I am not likely to change it!
wow...and i'd thought i'd seen it all! great job on the %'s w.i.n.t.e.r :yeah:

Of course, I am always looking for folks to take over some unit making. There have been severl people offering their help in the past, unfortunately those were rather shortlived offers as I believe merely a few frames were ever completed... :(

Well, yes Balou did a marelous job! :) He did his entirely by himself too, whereas I unfortunately still lack the sufficient 3d skills to do that. I work with what material I got. What I do at the time is Cut and Paste, and recolouring jobs. I could certainly do that to all animations and their respective directions, yet again, making this look good sometimes gets too time-robbingly and frustratingly difficult to achieve (talking out of experience).

Certainly having 30 perfect units await the modder would be even more superb, (compared to having 30 92% completed ones or to having 1 Godly, universally useable unit) yet again this unit is not intended as a universal one: It is merely a flavour unit for Poland for a certain WWII scenario.
