This looks incredible. I'd kind of like to get on the bus for the Civ V thing, but I'm probably going to get it for the console, because the TV is were real action games live.

Just to update, Tier 2 has been reached and Tier 3 is 11% completed for the free Civ V offer.

It's now at 27% three days later. Might just make it by Oct 9th deadline!

Yeah, CiV was amazing, they should promote it harder so more people can experience it.

I have yet to see an XCOM remake that beats the game mechanics of the originals.

I liked Xcom in 1994... ...but it's mechanics were not great. It really did not need to be TBS, and sitting around watching the globe spin waiting for a ufo to get intercepted was a tad strange too... ...it was real life minutes passing just to watch the globe spin.

I think Xcom would be better served this time as a tactical RTS.

Unfortunately, no matter what they do, real-time mode has nothing to do with tactics.

It's either non-tactical or really real time (Close Combat / Firefight) which means exactly "minutes of life passing". No other option.

Anyways, I meant by "real-time tactical" in that there is no base building or resource harvesting so to speak, like RTS games. You just land and command.

I kind of liked X-COM 3 'Apocalypse' as well, even though the game had a faaaaaaaaaar greater potential. I'd love it if they made a remake of it as well.

I loved Interceptor Great humour in that one. "cigarette lighter.... family picture.... nope, no tractor beam Sir."

I even got that Romanian gawdawful UFO extraterrestrials just to scratch the CXOM itch.

Most terrible game I played for months and months ... just scratching.
