You think you know this mod? Quiz yourself!

That would be amazing. I've taken a number of sporcle quizzes, but never created one, so your help is appreciated.

Mostly I'm wondering how I'm going to scrape RFC, SOI, and RFCE for the content in the quizzes, though. Do you know if there are any lists of, for instance, all the civilizations in Sword of Islam, or all of the leaders, or all of the technologies? Or, failing that, do you know if there's a way to extract that information from the code? Otherwise, I feel like the only way would be to open the game, flip to Civilopedia, and either write up a list on paper or alt-tab back and forth to type it into a document (though whenever I'm alt-tabbed repeatedly between Civ and some other window, my Civ game usually crashes or has serious trouble keeping up.

Isn't it possible to use windowed Civilization setup? I think it's possible to enable it in settings.

Alternatively, you can open e.g. the tech XML file and search for TECH_ to jump through all technologies etc.

I used the XML files to create the quizzes. Though you might run into some issues that way like I did (e.g. Cleopatra still being labeled as Hatshepsut).
You could also take a few screenshots of the civilopedia. Use WINDOWS+SHIFT+S to use the snapshot tool if you're on Windows. Then the image is on your clipboard so you can paste it into Paint.

If you press PrintScreen during the game, it will make a screenshot for you. It's in the Screenshots folder next to the saved games (usually in Documents/My Games).

In case anyone here is interested, I've created four Sporcle quizzes for the vanilla game, Rhye's and Fall of Civilizations.

https://www.sporcle.com/games/Publicola/rhyes-and-fall-civilizations -- identify the civilizations
https://www.sporcle.com/games/Publicola/rhyes-and-fall---unique -- identify the Unique Units
https://www.sporcle.com/games/Publicola/rhyes-and-fall-ub -- identify the Unique Buildings
https://www.sporcle.com/games/Publicola/rhyes-and-fall-unique-power -- identify the Unique Powers

Most of these are identical to the Civ IV base game, though there are some differences (no 'Native America' civ, for one) and the 'Unique Powers' are entirely new. I hope you'll give it a try!

I'll probably create similar quizzes for 'RFC Sword of Islam' next, though probably not until November since my students won't need it until then.

I got 26/27
8/27
5/27
2/27

i wonder how it would be now to play the original,
India for example must be so easy to have all that land for yourself :D

It is easy, I played as India. You could just expand on whole area, conquer Mayas, Aztecs and Incans if you reach them early enough.

I've created four new Sporcle quizzes covering the 'Sword of Islam'. Here are the links:

https://www.sporcle.com/games/Publicola/sword-of-islam-civs
https://www.sporcle.com/games/Publicola/sword-of-islam-powers
https://www.sporcle.com/games/Publicola/sword-of-islam-buildings
https://www.sporcle.com/games/Publicola/sword-of-islam-units

I'll probably add three more quizzes, covering 'Sword of Islam' technologies and resources and wonders, but that can wait until I have a bit more free time. I will also be creating similar quizzes (for civs, UPs, UBs, and UUs, resources, techs, wonders) for 'RFC Europe' later in the school year.

@Derdan : did you create an 'uniques'-type quizzes for Dawn of Civilization? I didn't see them linked in your first post in this thread, but I might have missed it if you added them later.
