Your Calling vs. Easy and Fun

A genie appears. He gives you a choice between doing some job that is easy and fun, making 5x more than whatever you will make elsewhere. The other choice is to do whatever you feel you "calling" is. Liike if you love math, you can be a good mathematician at a major university (not like the best in the world, but a fufilling career doing your "calling"). If you like writing, you would become a successful novelist, etc.

I agree. I mean while it may be nice to excel at something you love but making money without having to try hard is great and especially if you can have fun while doing it!

I'm having a hard time choosing, but right now I must say easy/fun because I don't know my calling yet!

Why not do both? I could persue my calling for awhile then switch over. I don't want to be locked up in one career my whole life.

I would go for the calling as no work could be more fullfilling and money is secondary for me. Easy and fun work might get boring as I like challenges and the feeling that I´m contributing something useful to society.

Calling. Where's that feeling of accomplishment when you get something done if you've picked a fun, easy, money-making job? No where. And that is a feeling I'd not give up.

'zactly. Use the money to do a calling - for example, if I had enough money for it I could start a malaria research program, or maybe join forces with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. And use the balance of the time for my other calling, posting to CFC
