Your favorite chat software?

At least a half dozen people think the OP is a bot, and yet nobody of these people reported it. Thanks for caring about this forum ^^.

I have ICQ and Trillian here, and i hate the interface of both. Haven't changed yet because i'm too lazy to create new accounts.
Sky is okay in these regards.

Well the people who looked at the OPs profile almost straight after the initial and only posting or activity would I assume be aware of the situation.:) Does it matter if a presumed bot starts a thread if the thread is ok.:)

You're welcome. :D

I don't use chat software, except for the occasional chat room that is used by a website.

But these people are not necessarily the mods ;).

Sure not, but the bots sometimes come back and injekt stuff in their posts, that's the problem.
Edit: A clarification was requested, so:
Spoiler :

No, not necessarily malware.
Yes, they are a pain in the arse.

What i meant: The bots bussiness is to drive people to whatever websites, and/or advertise their stuff.
So if they can bring somebody to click on their links, they are successful.

Now we have here a relativley unsuspicious thread, no links, etc.
Everyone is posting. Thread looks legit. Now, the bot comes back 2 weeks later and injects links to whatever chat software in the OP. If now someone comes from another website, doesn't know about the history, then he'll think it's a legit link. If someone is suspicious because he sees ads somewhere, and googles the software, he'll maybe find a link to CFC, to a thread, in which the people are normally talking, and will think it's legit.
But it isn't. It's a camouflage tactic.

Or the bot could also come back and blatantly link advertisement. Or malware. Or porn. Whatever.

We had once a bot, who linked back to the EA forums, to an old thread, which they used as promotion page. I guess something like that happened there too.

Sure, the thread we're talking about is at the moment not problematic. But you don't know how it will look next month.
That's it. And therefore we have to know if there's something strange going on, else we help the spammers, the malware authors, all the online scum.
And that's why i'm disappointed that nobody reported it :/.

You're welcome. :D

:p

Is there any other client which allows to run a second instance of skype?
Trillian just hijacks the running version of skype but doesn't allow a second instance.
