Firstly I apologise if this thread is a repeat from a previous similar thread - I'm too new to know, so forgive me? :D

So you go into a pub/bar/club... What do you order? I have just been to the pub and had the dilemma of not knowing what my favourite drink REALLY is - I ordered a glass of rose and ended up disappointed and wishing I had a vodka lime/lemonade instead. Do any of you have a 'regular' favourite drink you always order, or is it totally dependant on mood/calories/how drunk you want to get?

Thoughts please!

Dr Pepper

Double (or triple) malt blond beer. Preferably Belgian but Irish or Italian will do if not. Or Leffe.

Non-alcoholic: Water, Yerba Mate, Coffee, V8, Sweet Tea, most teas in general, and Italian Sodas.

Alcoholic: Wine (Moscato, Beaujolais, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon), Imperial Stouts, Peche Lambic, Long Island Iced Tea.

Wild Turkey straight, when I order it it always seems like my favourite anyways.

Orange or Lemon? Or perhaps the newer Mojito one?

Any old lager tbh. My specific choice depends on what's on offer, how long I plan to drink for, and, if I'm paying, how cheap it is. Something weak like Carlsberg is good for a long night or houseparty, whereas something stronger like Peroni is nice for a quick blast after work or a night in watching my soaps.

EDIT: Oh it also depends on whether someone's getting a round or not - if so I'll usually keep it simple and ask for whatever everyone else is getting.

P.S. I'm glad I'm not a girl because then I'd have to have a favourite drink.

Pint of Guinness usually.

If it is a longer session some larger or other.

At home a bottle of whatever beer is on special in Tesco.

I'm in a draw tonight for a 5 liter bottle of whiskey. I hope I don't win.

Alcoholic: Gin and tonic.
Non-Alcoholic: Unsweetened iced tea

Depends on my mood...
- lager is a good easy starter, and the go-to in an unfamiliar bar
- Tanqueray & tonic
- straight whiskey
- whiskey & coke

Wines are also good, but I'm not going to order them at the bar. Riesling for dinner, Pinot for the evening.

To be honest, my friends and I prefer to drink Mike's Hard Lemonade, Smirnoff Ice and whathaveyou...

Despite a lot of flak I've gotten in the past (people usually describe these drinks as girly), I enjoy the flavor and it's a pleasure to drink with the buds. I'm not crazy about the flavor of beers, it goes good with some food though.

In truth, it's because I have a sweet tooth :)

Water. There are other things that taste better a little bit better, but the considering tap water(I'll drink it as long as it's not completely awful, I can tolerate quite awful) is free, it's a huge advantage. So in the choice between free tap water, and something I have to buy, I'll choose tap water. If the choice is between bottled water and a soft drink with the same price, I'll choose the soft drink. And I don't like alcohol, but I sometimes drink it just to keep up appearances.

It's not that I'm stingy, I just don't think drinkables is worth spending money on. No matter how divine a drink is, in my mind it can't be much better than good tap water. It's simply an impossibility. It's like Barbie dolls for a guy. No matter how amazing a doll is, guys just don't care about it . It could cost €500k, and be handmade in an Italian workshop but guys would still don't care for it(other than selling it). It's the same thing with me and drinks. To me drinks are worthless, and therefore I prefer the cheapest I can get: Tap water. And some call me uncultured. Food on the other hand...

That stuff tastes like permanent marker. I generally stick to beers when I'm out at the bar. I'm a bit of a lightweight so hard alcohol tends to get me from 0 to Irish in 30 seconds.
