What was your first time firing a gun like?

It felt awkward at first, but I came to like it.

..Seriously, though, as a kid (probably between 6 and 8), the 12-gauge's recoil hurt. Now I can't even feel it, at least, not when skeet shooting.

My grandpa had us all shoot a BB gun at the age of 5 and then not much else.I do have a desire to fire "better" guns...

I don't remember my first experience either, and given that I got my first gun (a daisy bb gun) when I was like 6, I think my parents were fine with that.

Never fired a gun, but planning to go to a shooting range in the US next year. There's no reason I couldn't do it here but it just seems like something that should be done in Murika.

Guns are nice and all, but ammunition is just too expensive. I kinda prefer archery with a recurve bow. Compounds are cheating.

My uncle's house, this summer. Place is like a redneck palace, and we shot some fake groundhogs and light beer cans with the wimpiest rifle he had. I find I'm actually more comfortable doing it standing up.

They're no fun. Little noise, no recoil, little power- they lack any of the things that make shooting firearms fun.

Yeah, this. Other than being painfully surprised by the recoil I didn't really feel anything special about it.

Got to plink away at some targets with a .22 rifle as part of a sports/activity day for middle schoolers. All the local sports clubs had their own little stands and demonstrations, and one of these was a sport shooting club. It was fun and I briefly considered taking it up as an activity, but as I implied I was in middle school and attention span was limited.

After that the grand total of shots fired by me is one (1) shotgun shell fired as a warning shot against a bunch of seabirds. It worked, i.e. it scared off the birds.
