Yet, another study released today showing that Folic Acid doubles the cancer rate. http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2011-02/smh-oof021111.php

Back in 2009, another study showed that the colon cancer rate doubled in the country of Chile once they put folic acid into the food supply there. http://www.nutraingredients.com/Res...orectal-cancer-Chilean-study-adds-to-concerns

The FDA is corrupt and filled with board members who have corporate ties. You shouldn't rely on them for the safety of your food.

Folic Acid, just like all other fake "vitamins" in your food are synthetically engineered to mimic vitamins, but their atomic structure is not 100% identical to real vitamins found in nature. These synthetic chemicals called "vitamins" are put into our food. Some studies have shown that ironically people who take daily vitamins actually have a shorter lifespan than non-vitamin takers http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=bbc+news+lifespan+vitamins&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq= . Folic Acid is most commonly found in flour products, cereals, and all multi-vitamins. Check the ingredients, you can find some flour foods without it.

Aw, if you're going to show a conspiracy theory at least show an interesting one. One World Government/Illuminati, that's what's interesting.

If I was concerned about cancer, I'd stop smoking and drinking.

All the best things cause cancer, deal with it.

The difference here is that you knowingly choose to increase your risk to cancer. There is no sympathy for someone like you once you get it.

As for millions of unsuspecting people who are consuming folic acid and synthetic vitamins, they have no idea they are dramatically increasing their risk to cancer. Many of them will wake up one day with cancer and have no clue as to what caused it, and that makes it a criminal act by the food companies and the FDA.

Breathing increases your chance of cancer since OXYGEN is a major carcinogen. I have no sympathy for those who BREATH knowing this.

I think the ancient astronaut aliens put folic acid in the food supply to kill off the non-hybrids so that they may reclaim the Earth. ;)

Ancient Romans suffered greatly from lead poisoning which caused insanity, created by the lead piping system for drinking water. Some have even suggested that it caused the downfall of Rome because of the irrational decision making that lead poisoning causes.

Tomorrow's historians will talk about the high rate of carcinogens which your population today consumes, much in the same manner as the lead pipes of the Romans.

Hasn't the hypothesis of lead poisoning causin the fall of the Roman empire been conclusively debunked already?

Yeah, folate has been an interesting story. It has a place in dividing cells, and their health. This is going to affect cancer rates, obviously.

The two killers are cancer and cardiovascular disease. It's important to watch carefully when looking at statistics. Something that reduces CV disease is going to effectively look like an increase in cancer rates, and vis versa.

Everything in moderation you know. It's like love which is like oxygen. You get too much you get too high. Not enough and you're going to die.

Not very clever people, obviously, given that the symptoms of prolonged exposure to lead are rather more than "becomes a bit silly".

There is no moderation when it comes to folic acid and synthetic vitamins in the American food supply. It can be a challenge to find food without it.

Don't confuse folic acid with folate. Folate is natural, Folic Acid is synthetic.

Yes there is.

You are correct, as it's a proven scientific fact that people who live in urban areas with high pollution levels in the air have a higher rate of cancer. People who breathe second hand smoke from cigarettes also have a much higher rate of lung cancer.

Proposing that the Roman Empire would have survived indefinitely without "lead poisoning" is bunk in and of itself. The simple fact of the matter is that an entity as large as Rome, with the technological and logistical difficulties and realities of the day, is a doubtful proposal from the start, not to mention the decay of governmental and social institution which paved the slow road to Rome's collapse.

Assuming that people need lead poisoning to screw up is giving them too much credit in the first place.

Essentially, I don't know if it's been "officially debunked" but I don't think it had much merit in the beginning.
