Chapter One-Invasion
June 4th, 2011.
Sheriff Mathew Jackson was unprepared for what was to happen that morning. He, Deputy Hawthorne, and judge Isaiah Thompson were preparing for court that morning when, at 7:15 AM, a woman came in screaming. After calming down, the woman explained that a group of six had been feeding upon a homeless man. Confused, Jackson and Deputy Hawthorne went out, and to their surprise, the woman had been telling the truth; six grown men, dressed in hospital gowns, were devouring a man. Deputy Hawthorne shouted at the group. These things turned, and with a slow moan, moved towards the two. Hawthorne and Jackson both began firing, and each unloaded a clip, hitting their hearts multiple times. But to their shock, these thing did not stop, they continued walking. Sheriff Jackson fled, as Hawthorne reloaded and attempted to do
well do something at least. Unfortunately, by the time he had finished reloading the clip, the things were on top of him, and he too would suffer the same fate that the homeless man had just endured. Jackson drove back to his house, police siren and all. Unfortunately, some did not heed the siren, and fell to an unfortunate end having nothing to do with these immortal creatures. Jackson was able to get back to his house, where he and his wife barricaded the windows and doors. He attempted to make some calls, but to no avail. His cell service did not work either. Fearfully, he closed the shutters, and prepared for the worst.
Ormy Jones, the rookie at the Telluride Fire Department, was preparing for the day, when they got the call. He began to suit up, when another call came in. And then another. And another one after that. And finally, a fifth one. The final one cut off halfway through, so the captain tried using his cell phone. No signal. Each fireman checked their phones, but none had any reception. With fear dripping into his voice, the Captain decided the three targets to focus on; Telluride Elementary school, Elks Park, and the buildings on Townsend Street, right across from the Medical Center. Ormy was sent to Elk Park to prevent the fire from spreading any further. Luckily, most vehicles and pedestrians, even admist this bedlam, got out of the way, allowing for the firemen to put out the fire at Elks Park. A Sheriff was there for crowd control, and the fire was easily put out. With some of the last flames flickering out, though, the Sheriffs dog began to whine uncontrollably. Three men, on fire, were walking towards the crowd of firemen and onlookers. The Sheriff called out to them, but the only answer he received was a low moan. A look crossed the sheriffs face, and he opened fire upon them. Two of them were able to take several bullets, but continued walking. However, one of the men fell to a single bullet that hit it in the head. One of the firemen noticed, and screamed to aim for the head, and the Sheriff was able to kill the remaining two with ease. When the Captain spoke with the Sheriff, an agreement seemed to be reached. Ormy rode back with some of the other firemen, while the Captain and a few others rode off with the Sheriff. When they got back to the Fire Department, the firemen began building barricades, and when the sheriff returned, fire arms were distributed among them. As night falls, the firemen begin preparing for the worst.
(+Firearm for Ormy Jones)
For Jimmy Morello, the day actually was pretty normal for the circumstances. People spoke in hushed voices about the fires at Elk Park and Townsend Street, but Morello ignored them. At 9:40 AM though, a man came into the Library and asked for volunteers to help man a barricade, and Morello was ready to join them. He thought surely that the end of the Cold War had been a myth, and now, the Soviets and the Chinese were ready to invade the United States. It did not seem the case, but Morello stood at the barricade at Main Street and began firing wildly into the crowd. They were able to eliminate a few, but the crowd reached the barricade, and began tearing apart the defenders. Morello left as they poured over the barricade, and fled into the town park, finding sanctuary in the skate park. Now, he has to figure out how best to survive these men who cannot be killed.

Max Willoughby began riding back into Telluride at about 10:30. Spending the morning on the Jeb White Trail, he had an excellent morning, and was heading home, when as he got onto Galena Street, he noticed that Telluride Elementary had gone up in flames. Most of them had been put out, but there was still a panicked crowd there, as well as a few patrol cars. He sped away quickly back to his home, where his brother Marten was. They ate breakfast, and other than some car alarms, their day was relatively uneventful until the brothers went outside to try to do something about the alarms. Most of the cars had broken glass-probably Garret Ellington trying to replenish his supply of car stereos-but now that the alarms were stopping, Max and Marten went back to the trails to bike around. As they returned at about 5 PM, they went back inside to play awful music.
Colin MacCochlain was preparing for tomorrows Mass, when at about noon, a group of teenagers came into the church. Colin knew these kids had a reputation of vandalism-they had just tagged the Presbyterian church last weekend. He grabbed his shotgun-they didnt need to know it wasnt loaded-and told his deacon to call the police. The teenagers were not there to cause trouble; instead they were looking for safety. As he listened, the teenagers explained the men who could not be killed, the failed barricade, and how the Sheriffs and Fire Department were no longer responding. Colin couldnt believe the story, but when Deacon Bostwick came in, saying the lines were dead, doubt crossed his mind. He was still skeptical of the notion that there could be immortal men running about, he allowed the teenagers to stay until sundown, and then they were to go back to their parents. He invited them to come back to church tomorrow, and they all promised they would. Chuckling, Colin went back to finishing his mass.
Rebecca Ross left the Post Office in a happy mood, as Ace, her loyal dog, followed. However, the mood quickly soured with Ace barking and whining, and not even a chew toy or treat could cheer him up. As they walked to Main Street, Rebecca noticed a barricade, and firearms going off. Fearful of what was going on, she quickly headed home, locked her door, and sat down, completely unsure. She tried calling the police, her parents, anybody, but she had no service. Her neighbors were out, so other than Ace, she had nobody to be with. She decided to wait for her neighbor, Brad Hawkins, but even now, he has yet to show up.
Jace Janikowski was not in a good mood. Saturday School? School was supposed to end in two weeks! Granted, summer school was not out of the question for Jace; Finals could bring some grades crashing down, but still! There was no reason for this. He noticed the flames coming out of the Elementary School, and pointed it out to Mr. Hawkins, the teacher supervising Saturday School. Mr. Hawkins rushed out of the classroom, as did several other delinquents, and headed towards home. There were several patrol cars, but Jace remained calm. There was a fire at the Elementary school, they wouldnt be looking for kids playing hookey from Saturday School. He headed home, but was upset to find that the power was out. He tried calling the power company, but the signal on his cell was gone. Not wanting to risk going outside and getting into trouble, Jace decided to simply wait until his parents got home. Until then, his laptop was still running, and he had a few games to play with that.
Jane White had a relatively quiet day in terms of outside interference. She had a package delivered early that morning, and planned to spend the day working in her shop that day about recreating some medieval swords. The power outage did not stop her, as none of her equipment relied on electricity. Aside from a quick bite to eat from her packed lunch, she had almost no distractions, and she had finished one of the swords.

Living on the outskirts of town, David Mitchell had no news of going ons in the town until his daughter, Debbie, came back. She had gone into town to pick up the mail, but instead, she told him of the fires and chaos that were spreading through the town. Mitchell boarded up the house and Debbie gathered the food and ammo. The only question that remained was whether or not the Mitchells would go into town for church and groceries, but it seemed unlikely.
Peter Kings was enjoying his day off with his wife and son. There was no work to be done until his company could get proper equipment, but until then, relaxation. The only disturbances came first when the power went out, and later when a man attempted to break into the house. Peter gave him two warnings, but only moans were heard. His wife Ashley tried calling the sheriff, but there was no cell service. Frustrated, Peter grabbed his Machine Gun and fired a few shots, hitting the man in the head, and with that, the dilemma was solved, until the sheriff could be bothered to look into it.
Derek Conor had an excellent morning. Ontop of the truck, a deer was tied down, and it was going to be some good eatin. As they drove through the backwoods, Derek, who was new with driving, saw a pedestrian too late, and hit the man. Derek and the other Redneck got out of the car, as Derek wanted to make sure if it was dead. The man started to moan, and in shock, the other Redneck shot the man in the head. The two hid the body in the woods, and went back into the car and headed home.
