1.21 beta

The Dissent Advisor window is overflowing the sides of my screen.

Ah oops. I set to a fixed size while I was tweaking it and forgot to revert it to scale with resolution.

Anything in python, whether or not it alters gameplay has to be coded in their way or it is screwed.

Indeed. I've already purged all of BUG's GameUtils stuff, and a whole bunch of bits HR doesn't need such as the Hall of Fame/Game of the Month bits. As soon as 1.21 is finished I'm going to try rip out the damnable modular EventManager system. BUG does have a lot of useful utils and UI components though, so hopefully can get the essential ones to work without it.

In the meantime I think I've managed to get everything in your World Builder working except landmark and script data editing. Lack of the latter is a pain for me, but shouldn't bother anyone else.

Can't manually assign citizens to work the top 3 tiles of a city's BFC (auto-assign can still work them). It simply won't register the mouse clicks, perhaps because religions (and I assume corporations) present in the city are now listed in that field?

Will be there in a create custom game screen
options to disable some game parts?
like:
civil wars
overtaking city tiles by culture
or disable nukes? (seriously: the AI on Emeror give f about global warming)

That global warming give me question. If the tiles can turn into sand, can tundra become grass?

That will be the problem, yes. I didn't consider that for smaller screens. What's your resolution? Could you post a screenshot of how a city looks for you with 4 or more religions/corporations (add them in World Builder)? That'll help me work out the best way to solve it.

I don't believe I can add new custom game options. Requires the SDK.

overtaking city tiles by culture

Already exists.

I was going to merge Platy's 'Local Warming' mod component in but I ran out of time. I want to make a bunch of tweaks to it, but perhaps I'll just merge it as is for now, make the tweaks later. It changes global warming to be more similar to what you describe, among other changes.

Resolution is 1680x1050. Screenshot attached.

Also, I had an odd python error alert pop up at one point. The screenshot for the first message failed, unfortunately, but I've attached the second and third.

Hmm same resolution as me, though I use a 1440x900 window while modding. Assume you play in a smaller window? What size is it? Regardless, I'll see what I can do to avoid the problem.

Was a problem with Philosophical leaders, preventing them receiving their specialist when a Great Person is born. Fixed.

Turns out the *game* resolution was set to 1024x768 (the minimum) and I just never noticed before. After experimenting with other resolutions, it appears it's only that one that has the problem.

The Olympic games are generating Wonder completion notifications when they move to a new city.

Should make things less claustrophobic! If you're on Mac BTS you can hold down the Option key while opening BTS and it'll open up an options panel where you can choose more resolutions than are offered in game.

Ah I keep forgetting that setting it as a World Wonder will automatically generate that message. Easy to fix.

Getting an error pop-up whenever a Great Temple is built (whether by the AI or the player). I don't have the Spiritual trait, so I don't know if they're getting their Golden Age or not.

They're not, the error is preventing it. Fixed, thanks.

On another note, how is your game going in terms of dissent? Had any civil wars yet? Seen any cities get up to Unsettled?

The Inca have had multiple cities go barbarian on them, though they usually only last a few turns before either the Inca or Brazil capture them again. I haven't met the civs in the eastern hemisphere yet, but there have been several notifications (I think 4 or 5) of civilizations being destroyed (though the victory advisor only says two have been wiped out). There was one notification of the Barbarians capturing the Hanging Gardens.

As for my own cities, I've so far managed to keep any from going below Stable at worst, and they're now all back to Loyal thanks to my first Golden Age.

Single cities will go barbarian, but if two or more cities rebel at once they'll start a new civ. I may adjust that for larger mapsizes. I'm concerned that it's too easy for newly captured cities to ramp up dissent, leading to the situation where a city gets stuck in a loop of rebel and recapture. I wonder if that's what's happening with those Incan cities.

What game speed are you playing?

It does seem to be the same two or three cities rebelling multiple times. I saw one of them rebel against the Inca, get captured by Brazil, rebel from *them*, and get recaptured by the Inca again. It probably doesn't help when they have 50%+ Barbarian culture.

I'm playing on Odyssey (the slowest speed).

I've found a couple reasons why revolutionary civs usually don't last long. One, some or all of their cities often revolt *again* in short order. Two, they start at war with their parent civ and have *no* tech.

Starting at war is intended, no techs is a bug. Fixed now, they'll have the same techs as their parent civilization. I've also made it so the new civ claims a proportional amount of the old civ's treasury.

Still investigating the quick second rebellion issue.

Not ready for the third (and ideally, final) beta yet, but try this Civil War update in the meantime. Contains a number of tweaks and fixes. Goes in /History Rewritten/Assets/Python/. Won't break a game in progress.

I think either dissent from unhealthiness should be reduced, or else the unhealthiness penalty for Jungle/Flood Plains needs to be nerfed or removed. Otherwise starts with lots of those terrain types are simply murder, especially Flood Plains with their rapid population growth.
