18 Civs; the Mongol Version

KOLAI: That’s not all.
GENGHIS: Oh?
KOLAI: You’ll never believe it sire, but a band of Greek Maces slipped past our army as it advanced. They practically ran through the mountains and attacked Bactra from the north. Surprise attack.
GENGHIS: Right.
KOLAI: Anyway, our bastards must have been sleeping or something, because they got slaughtered. They were Cavalry! And Maces beat them. It’s ridiculous.
GENGHIS: That is indeed ridiculous! Now get some guys to take it back!
KOLAI: Will do. Oh, but I’ve taken Corinth already.

GENGHIS: Well that’s something at least. But still. We still lost more cities than we won last year. Now rectify the situation, before I rectify your position in my army.
KOLAI: Yes sir.

The war was well and truly underway between the two great Old World superpowers, the Russian bloc and the Mongol bloc. Cities on both sides were ablaze, and men were slaughtering men all over the continent. Would Genghis prevail?

To be continued …

How does Lizzy feel towards you? Maybe worth getting a purely symbolic ally in this war? Buddy system gives your opponent someone else to shoot at...

Lizzy hates my guts :) as does everyone else.
Seriously though I did actually forget that Alex was a vassal of Russia, and that's what's brought this on. It might turn out well in the end though.

Aw come on, don't just leave us hanging like that...:)

So you bump old threads too, huh, Yoshi? :p

Too many bumpers and bad things will happen. Tread with caution.

So ...

How are you guys?

If I have any credibility left with my promises and assertions, and if anybody still cares, I am GOING to get an update out within two weeks. This I swear.
I just haven't had time over the last few months, my life has been hectic beyond belief. That and I got pissed off with the Civ series over Civ V and the stupid way you gotta register it ... I mean, right, my girlfriend buys me Civ V for Christmas, so I try and register it on Steam, only to get the duplicate CD key error ... if any of you guys have had this problem, you'll know how difficult it is to prove to Steam you own the game. I complained and got the most annoying, auto-response using idiot of a tech support guy who refused to help me without the receipt, EVEN THOUGH he said he would if I sent him photos of the CD key, which I did ... The upshot is I recommend people not to waste their cash on Civ V until (if ever) they get rid of the stupid Steam registration system.
</rant>
Sorry about that guys, but yeah ... So I forgot about Civ for a few months. Now I have a bit of spare time so I thought "hey, why not have a play on Civ IV again!" Then I remembered this story.
The truth is by the way, I have finished the game, complete with screenshots telling the story to me (so I can follow it again after 5 months ). It just needs writing up. So give me a couple of weeks. I'm sure I can find time at 1 in the morning when I can't sleep (a problem of mine) to write. So please don't give up on this! Update in 2 weeks, minimum. Or I'll capitulate ;-)
Anyway you're probably sick of hearing my excuses and just want the story. So I'll shut up. You'll hear from me before the 10th April.

Stories around here tend to last several years, a finish to this one sounds fine to me :)

I promise you the update is started, it WILL BE DONE! By THIS Saturday I swear.
I did try to post a postponement on Saturday actually (in my usual style ;) ) but couldn't get on; website must have been down or something.
Anyway I'm writing the update on my old laptop: just got a new one and HAD to set loads of games up on it which is why I'm behind on the update. But Saturday for sure. I know it will get done this time.

It IS ironic how CYOA still hasn't been updated.
