Unfortunetly, i do not think China can bid on the Island. There was no real contact between the China and the Mediterranean.

I think the Romans eventually found that during a certain time of the year, they could sail from the Red Sea to the Indus River in around a month and then sail up the Indus to meet Chinese merchants.

However, this involves some kind of link between China and Rome in southern Asia that doesn't exist in this game.
