2006 CFC 7-Round NFL Mock Draft (Starts 2/4)

With the 35th pick in the 2006 CFC draft the New York Jets select:

Max Jean-Gilles - OG - University of Georgia

With their 2nd pick in the Draft, the Green Bay Packers select

Ashton Youboty, CB, Ohio State

The Packers are really happy with this pick, as they had Youboty pegged for mid- to late-1st round. This could mean the end of the Ahmad "Pass Interference -- Defense" Carroll era...

Manny Lawson was the highest DE remaining on the board, he brings a nice pass rush in passing situations and is a DE-OLB tweener...which the Texans need.

He is a Demarcus Ware type, Kiwanuka cant play OLB I believe.

Kiwi can't play in the 3-4, I'll give you that; but there is no way Lawson can be an end in that system either. He's just way too small, he'll get gobbled up by the lineman at the NFL level if he's putting a hand down every play.

...And Ware can't play the end position in the 3-4 either, he's an OLB.

With the 37th Pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, the

select
Wide Reciever Chad Jackson out of the University of Florida.

Nice pick.

btw, I never said I was going to play Lawson at DE...he was the best available pick is all, I needed an OLB with more speed. He can play OLB, so I was all like "omg lolzers, nC StAte REPRESENT!!!"

Sorry, I just assumed when you selected him and used defensive end that that was where you saw him playing.

Charles Woodson was better :p

Charles Woodson never put a hand down and went one on one with a 300 pound Offensive Tackle, until he does that, I'd say the Defensive end/Kick Returner has a leg up on him.

With the 38th pick in the 2006 CFC draft the Oakland Raiders select:

Ernie Sims - LB - Florida State University

This is the picture I would have used:

I know, thats an awesome shirt.

With the 40th pick the Detroit Lions select:

Nick Mangold center, Ohio State

Reason

Rebuilding weak O-line

With the 41st pick in the 2006 NFL draft, the Arizona Cardinals select

Davin Joseph, Offensive Guard, Oklahoma

A solid guard to fill in the Cardinals' weak spot on the O-line and without some of the weight problems that other highly rated guards have.

The next two picks will take place before noon today (got to run some experiments in the lab).

With the 42nd pick of the CFC draft, the Buffalo Bills select:

Rodrique Wright - Defensive Tackle - Univeristy of Texas

Dick Jauron: Last year he would have been the first defensive tackle taken, we are thrilled to get him in the second round.

With the 43rd pick of the CFC draft, the Cleveland Browns select:

bbunkley.jpg

Broderick Bunkley - Defensive Tackle - Florida State University

Romeo Crennel: It was painfully obvious our need for depth in the front three. This pick helps to address that.

With the 44th pick the Baltimore Ravens select:

Jason Spitz Offensive Guard, louisville

Reason

Aged, injuried line needs fresh blood
