Where should they be held ?
(forget all candidates, just name the country or city where it should be held)

Seeing this map I think South America or Africa are due. I don't see many countries beign able to organise it well enough in Africa, so my preference goes to Brasil or Argentina.

Buenos Aires is in an economic downturn...I guess if the Kirchner's could somehow turn it into an economic catalyst, it would be good. The Olympics NEVER works like that though, so I say hold it in Sao Paulo or Kiev :p

Madrid 2016!

São Paulo or Frankfurt-am-Main in 2016.

EDIT: France hasn't had it in awhile. Bordeaux or Marseilles just to mix it up.

Azerbaijan tried to become a candidate. I guess you can't knock them for trying...

Tokyo is due another Olympics and they had the highest score so why not give it to them if they're the best? What's the point in ignoring the candidates list because anyone who didn't apply doesn't want to host them.

Chicago should, although I wouldn't be disappointed with Madrid. Brazil will get the World Cup around that time I think, so maybe they ought to wait a cycle or two for the Olympics. I hate having Asian Oylmpics/WCs, because it completely screws up the TV for Americans!

San Francisco, so I can go :p

Also, because the Bay is yay.

2016 Olympics wont go to Europe, with London getting it in 2012. A Europe repeat hasn't happened since 1956, and wont happen again. There are just too many viable cities these days. If Brazil or Argentina can handle it, South America should get a shot.

My preference is definitely for Chicago of the candidate cities, as I could actually attend some events then. Rio would be my second choice as the games wouldn't be overnight like they are in for the beijing games (uggh, stupid 2:30am gold medal basketball game!!)

If it could be anywhere, I'd of course love to have it here in Ohio.

Chicago would be okay, the drive's not terribly far. Rio would be good, too--hasn't been to South America yet, still in an agreeable time zone for watching here.

chicago! Best city to not hold the the Olympics.

rio! all the way. give it to a 5th continent!

I like the idea of Rio.

I agree with a South American slot...most likely Rio or Buenos Aires in Brazil.

I'd like to say India or maybe a Middle Eastern spot (Saudi Arabia or Israel) but I doubt that would be feasbile security wise. Cairo wouldn't be a horrible spot either, but again, security...

And since I'm an American, obviously, Chicago wouldn't be so bad either.

Buenos Aires is in Argentina. ;) But I agree that it's long past time that somewhere in South America got to host.

Saudi Arabia... so you'd like an all-male Olympics? ('cause that country is awfully inconvenient for women).

I would like to see the games taking place in Sao Paulo, Rio, Buenos Aires, or Mexico City. It's Latin America's turn now, jeje.
