More Unique Components for Vox Populi

3rd and 4th Unique Components for VP - Official thread 88.10

Sweden's lack of tundra bias and refusal to readd it is why I was a proponent of the change - and it'll be better with 25% birth bonuses now anyway, or so it would seem. I prefer it this way anyway, there's a ton of terrain dependent civs and I don't see why Sweden should be one of them too. I could see a tiny boost to it some way or the other, though, but I haven't played Den of Swe post-change yet.

ultra-noob-newbie-amateu-nevaposttecimpressions here: What is the meaning of (over) naming the .modinfo file?
AE started doing that.

I think it’s just so MUCfVP will appear last, but next to all the other VP components alphabetically in your mod list.

Over is abbreviation from overhaul. I tend to use such prefixes (ui, graph, qua, text, game, civ...) to have better sorted mods in the folder. Sorry for confusion.

I once thought about numeric prefixes like for vp, but with such number of mods often changing it would be difficult.

Huh. Didn't think of it like that. Alright, guess that makes sense, nevermind.

- Kabuki ==> removed yields on empire from unique guilds. Replaced with instant bulb effect on GWAM birth

I just tried Japan with the new Kabuki. I think the yield are too high and can easily be cut in half. For example, i'm getting 7000 culture (about 4 turns worth) in the industrial era when a writer is born. Before discovering Acounstics, I had one civ (Maya of course) that had an 8 tech advantage, and one policy advantage. Other civs were about equal in tech and 1-2 policy behind me.

Since then, I have reached the same tech level as the maya, and have a 4 policy advantage. I'm unlocking tech and research very fast and most civs have become irrelevant.

So I would suggest lowering the yields. 5% bonus per guild should be enough in my opinion.

Understood. I really couldn't guess a good level to set this bonus without playing 1-2 full games with Japan to try it out. I will change it to 5% each for the next version. Thanks for testing that for us.

@pineappledan Is it ok to go ahead and use v45 with G's new release? Or will there need to be a minor tweak made due to things like instant yields change?

I haven’t had an opportunity to double check, but tentatively, no changes are necessary beyond a much needed Japan nerf. Even if there are some changes that need to happen, they only affect non-standard game speeds

Issue encountered making a modpack with the new 6.2 patch and v25

additional uniques are loading for some additional civs, but not others.

not loading additional uniques with 6/2 but were with previous patch - usa roosevelt, britain victoria, japan hideki, prussia frederick

Still fully functional - Samnites, Israel, the garamantes, sumer, papal states, kymer,

I'll double check this later.

you are best off mentioning this to @HungryForFood who runs those mods. 4UC compatibility for civs outside the main 43 civs is bundled in those custom civs, not in 4UC.

I only maintain the civs listed in my profile signature.

Are you using the latest version of my mods? I increment the version numbers and post the changelogs when I update, so you can go check in Steam Workshop (eg for Prussia it is at v6) if you're using the latest.

If you checked and issue persists, send me your Civ5DebugDatabase.db from My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\cache, and tell me what version of my mods you're using.

May I propose a change to the Celts... Opediums are good but the issue is very underwhelming it is only available for one great person... why not since Celts have not second economic improvement make it available for all Celtic great people in the name of balance....

I dunno, I tend to run out of good places to plop Oppidums on (as in, ones with a relevant tile on each side) sometime during the game anyhow. And Celts get a bonus for great merchants anyway, and usually it's not a problem working all merchant specialists in the capital as a focus.

Urm... My penteconter unit model is loading the regular droman model

I don't know if this is due to installing RED mod but I'm posting here as it's confusing me when I see it.

thats definitely the case. The Pentekonter is only a different coat of paint; we didn’t change any of the references. It’s the Dromon in every respect except the model, icon, and civilopedia text. If you added a mod pack that adds updated models for the dromon then it’s just going to overwrite the things we did.

I would recommend not using RED because you’re going to run out of memory very quickly. I doubt you will make it past renaissance with VP, 4UC and ReD together.

Lol so ygaemp 43 civ vp 4UC and red might be a lil much I will say though actually made it past rennaisance as long as civs get eaten up... If you peak the aggressiveness up with an aggression mod the chances of finishing the game go up drastically.

Scyhted Chariot promotion "rend" states unit will ignore zone of control but unit loses all movement points.
