I think an annual tournament is the way to go (instead of quarterly), but that doesn't mean the tournament has to take an entire year to play.

Generally I start a new one within weeks (at most a month) of when the old one ends.

And I agree with you guys about the time limit issue. Next year I will make it a 5 or 7-day time limit (probably 7). I just wanted to make it somewhat user friendly for noobs (but many of them still managed to time out ).

Looking forward to the next one for sure, along with DaveShack I hope Panzar decides to join also.

BTW, what do you guys think of the groups of five & two advance system? I'm thinking next year of doing groups of three & one advance. I just did it the way I did this year since so many strong players were totally new & conceivably we could have gotten say, col, Mehmed, Luce & Sashie in one group together which would have sucked & improrished the quality of the final rounds.

It's too late to join this year's competition Foraging but we have these every year as stated above.

On the contrary, I'd say that having a generous time limit hurts those with poor discipline: if they join up, and know that they have to play every other day or so, they won't be as likely to forget to play.... am I making any sense?

mowque and loki130 in my group are way too slow IMHO. They would have lost on time IF the time limit had been shorter by now.

I also would not be in the situation of looking at maybe 11 games at once by month's end.
