3rd Annual CFC Chess Tourney!!

I suppose its natural that a site for Civ lovers would also have some pretty strong chess players around. I've watched everyone's grade climb pretty rapidly on Chess.com.

Except mine! It's dropped like a rock, and it's about to take another plummet in a move or two in a few games!:(

Maybe you need to slow down your play a little and look to see which pieces are attacked. You let me take your queen for nothing.

I think I'm playing too many games at once for a beginner. After I finish off my current games, I'm going to play individual challenges 1 at a time, see if I can't win a few.

Probably early 2010.

The next Official CFC Tournament anyway.

I start tournaments all the time. I could inform you of when I plan to start my next one.

I just got knocked out by loki130 officially. Now I just have 3 games left to finish off before I start challenging people one game at a time. Azza, are you up for the next rematch?

I just noticed that the only finished game in first round is the second between Mehmed and myself, and as we are both through already, I offered him a draw.

One other still going technically (this one) But it looks like it will be over very soon. I'm looking forward to round II though it will be bittersweet since I was knocked out in round I. :undecide:

I accepted. Let's get on with this thing :scan:
You really should, as my position is quite overwhelming. However, winning it might take a couple of months, and since your rating is way higher than mine...
Anyway, I look forward meeting you again. So far we have had three interesting games, and that is more important than the result.:)

We can finally start round 2?
:bounce:

Anyway, I have a question regarding tournament rules/ethics:
Is using an actual chessboard next to computer to test different lines and results allowed? Or would it be considered cheating?

No - its encouraged!
