At day mostly single engined planes were used, like Me 109 or FW 190. At the first time also heavy fighters like the Me 110, Ju 88 and even the He 177 Greif heavy bombers were used as interceptors and rocket platforms. They had some success but were withdrawn after more and more fighters came, as they had nearly no chance.

Yeap I remember all those footage from mustangs and mosquitos shooting up twin engine night fighters who stood little chance. It was goering idea to send up night fighters on day light missions as Allied bombing had become more serious.

They all got renamed?? Kinda guessing here tough....

They where all used by other nations then those that built it at some point?
You are the closest! :goodjob:

The answer was that all of them were renamed.

Amerika, Hitler's private train, was renamed after Germany's declaration of war on the US, for propaganda reasons.

The Deutschland was renamed, becasue hitler thought the loss of a ship called Deutschlamnd would be crippling to moral,e and she was renamed the KMS Lutzow.

The T-28 was an American supertank, that was later redesignated the T-95.

The highest ranking American killed in the war was Lieutenant General Simon Bolivar Buckner Jr., the commander of the 10th Army. He was killed in Okinawa by Japanese artillery fire on June 18, 1945. In 1954, he was posthumously advanced to the rank of General. BTW, his father was Confederate General Simon Bolivar Buckner Sr., who famously surrendered to then Brigadier General Ulysses S. (Unconditional Surrender) Grant at Fort Donelson.

I suspect you're thinking of Lieutenant General Lesley J. McNair, who was killed by friendly fire in France on July 25, 1944, and who had been the highest ranking American killed at the time of his death.

Arg damn you hehe. No i was thinking of Bolivar, and the who killed him was an attempt at a trick. Ive seen so many places that name Mcnair as the highest one killed during the war.

A truck destroyed by a torpedo missing the ship it was targetted at (wild guess)?

Adler
A truck?

I don't know if it's a translation error, or something, but for a torpedo to hit a truck, it would have to be extraordinary circumstances!

USS Tautog (SS 199) shot down a Japanese torpedo plane during the Pearl Harbor attack. Tautog was moored to a pier at the time.

Your question, Serutan. :goodjob:
