5/10/12 Gamespy article

Aside from the function of embassies, the Mayan UA, The total nature of the Byzantines, and a few buildings and units, there's nothing "big" left. And at least one big thing will probably be reserved for the last month.

These smallish details help to flesh out the big picture and help to answer peskly little questions.

I might be wrong, but I think the OP didn't see that Lisbon and Valetta are new city states too. Or are they already in the game?

I added Valetta, and we already knew about Lisbon from several weeks back.

Milan is also a new city state, likely one of the Mercantile ones.

Cultural, iirc, unless they've changed it from when Milan was in the PAX demo

Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another short article on religion from GameSpy: http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/sid-meiers-civilization-v-gods-kings/1224573p1.html

Looks like the unknown civilian unit is a Missionary.

Herpes???!!??

OMG Herpes. I actually laughed out loud at that article.

What do you think that 750 represents?

Something to do with religious Pressure. The Missionary probably has a Strength in Faith similar to what we've seen on the Great Prophet, and this is involved somehow in how religion is spread.

Seems to make sense. So now I assume that 2000 is the "conversion" point since a saw a screenshot of a Great Prophet with strength 2000 to the left of that dove icon under the movement info.

The 4th notification icon looks like Cinnamon (don't know where it is, though).

Edit: Just realized they currently use Cinnamon sticks as the Spices icon...

I'm wondering if that resource is teak or something.

Here again screenshots that you can't zoom in on. Why should you have to squint your eyes just to see a screenshot? Come on now.

Actually, if you look at that screen shot, there's a city state in the South, and if you enlarge it enough, it looks like there's light-greenish area just above the orange area. I'm guessing he's already got a unit down there exploring that land in the South.

I do agree that this completely circular opening doesn't look like exploration at all. :(

By the looks of it the background for the espionage screen changes from era to era. one of the screenshots in this article shows a spy looking at documents by candle light and a previous one shown a while ago showed a spy looking at documents with a flshlight while wearing a trench coat iirc.

That is interesting.
