93 movie remakes in the works...

:bump:

Guess what other movie is being remade:

An American Werewolf in London.

Guess who the director is.

The original director's loser son :)

And Ivan Reitman's son Jason is doing the upcoming Ghostbusters sequel (Ivan directed the original).

Snake Plissken is due back in a remake of Escape from New York.

No, that was a sequel, this will be a remake. The original director is supposed to return as the executive producer.

They would remake Gone with the Wind and retitle it Passing Gas.

The best remakes are of low budget movies with interesting concepts. Example, The Fly (1956) vs The Fly (1978), 13 Ghosts (1960) vs Thir13en Ghosts (2001), cheesy titles not-with-standing, or A Star is Born. The problem is that Hollywood wants to spend any budget on special effects. Also, themes have changed. Cold War echoes no longer work, but something needs to be over the horizon.

How long until they remake Mystery Men?
And if so, how long until there is a Mystery Men/Deadpool Crossover?:mischief:

How about a dead Hulk/Cesspool crossover?

If you want cheesy comic book movies, why not try for a decent Vampirella or Swamp Thing? Heavy Metal magazine from the late 1970s to the early 1990s had a bunch of material. The two movies so far have been decent but you could do a lot more.

I think that the spiderman one really didn't have to be rebooted (and then rebooted again a few years later). The actor in the 90s spiderman looked the part.
Of course he ruined the series - along with his career - in Spiderman3, with this memorable scene:

Ok, didn't anyone in the studio realize this was a bad idea? :shake:

I don't really see what's wrong with it?

There's a Swamp Thing series in development for the DC streaming service. I haven't subscribed to it, but so far it has Titans and Doom Patrol, the latter of which has been getting good reviews, and is described as being very weird, which could bode well for Swamp Thing.

Any word on a Killer Klowns from Outer Space remake?
