9th Civ: It's Sweden

If it is Gustavus, CivPony is just going to give up. It's bad enough he has to support Napoleon, Alexander and Genghis...but, that's a lot of weight there.

I'm from Sweden, and a historian at that. I have seen numerous portraits of Gustaf II Adolf over the years, and this is a mix of his parade outfits. The boot is a riding boot he used atthe battle of Breitenfeld.

I'd wish for a non-European civ, but oh well, I'm not complaining.

More rampant speculation: the color scheme sorta matches the Imperial Crown of Brazil:

I can't think of anything better than clothing so I'm also going with Sweden/Poland/Hungarians.

Yeah I'd say the smart money is on Gustav Adolphus, with Poland as an outside chance.

I personally think Poland-Lithuania would be a slightly more diverse choice, I mean, we already have the danes to represent the Union of Kalmar, but there's no love yet for the Slavs.

Plus I can't really think of UA/UB for sweden, but for Poland Winged Hussars immediately come to mind.

But it's probably Sweden.

I think it's either Dutch or Portugal.

The reason is the image looks like lacing from the kings/queens of the era of exploration. Both were major players in exploration.

And Spain is being added to the expansion despite being a DLC before.

This tells me one of the scenarios is some sort of Era of Exploration scenario and you gotta have Portugal or Dutch in addition to Spain, England and France for that.

In addition, the Age of Exploration scenario would fit religion being added.

I am just enjoying reading all of the speculation, and do not have a horse in the race. But Sweden does make sense from the standpoint of the medieval scenario being added as well.

The Netherlands have already been confirmed as a new addition. Portugal has not, but given that Lisbon is being added as a City-State, that's more or less confirming they won't be in.
