@Xanikk999 - Just so I know, where the Heck did you see Immaturity in here? I mean, I saw cracking jokes, talks about female\male unit balance in the game, and health discussing. No insults throw for no reason and no offense taken.

One question I ahve, is it possible to have more than one model for a given unit? Let's say I have a female and a male Warrior, and when I create the unit it randomly chooses one of them to use. Is it possible?

[mode stupid on]
I was reading you guys talking about an Amazon civ, with only woman, and I asked myself: "What is the reference for having a female only civilization in the Amazon Rainforest???... And I re-read, and blushes, and got donkey ears. But I still think we need an "Amazon Women on the Moon" civ.

Maybe because someone didn't believe that there are no girls on the internet and the mods were too amused to delete this thread.

i don't really see the need for amazons to have female represented units, Then you said So it'd be nice if there were significantly more female units, but at the very least, more female heroes and atleast one on a horse!

SO is it a yes or a no, for more females?:crazyeye:

yes civ needs more females, my points don't contradict if you are wondering, as my statement is that we don't need amazons (a people devoted to female domination) for female representation. there doesn't need to be a special story to have units represented by females, or else you'd have to specifically state somewhere that "only men may use weapons" to always have every unit represented by males (unless its somehow assumed that only men have ever been involved in military, which is not true of reality and much less so in atleast the Forgotten Realms fantasy setting).

I remember theres a great person thats a witch (which is usually considered a female) so how about randomly generating male and female great people?

I did always picture the belseraphs as more feminine. Deadly and...disturbing, and ...<shudders>.

Still, give the team some slack, im sure this is already something they've thought of/are thinking about.

I agree completly. In fact this was one of White Rabbit's first points after joining the team, he wanted to add more female models.

There definitly is no restriction on only male warriors in FfH, we just have the models we have been given to work with. Hopefully the art team will start to turn out some warrior ladies.

BTW, my wifes was checking out the mod and commented that I should go for gamer girls. She said I need a civ that will appeal to them and suggested a female dominated society that gave a positve attitude adjustment when dealing with other female leaders (regardless of their alignment or such) and a negative attitude adjustment when dealing with male leaders. Some sort of a: "-2 You're only a man." adjustment.

As normal I didn't take her suggestion. And as normal she is probably 100% right.

Don't you just hate that?!? (*retorical question*)

Edit: Isn't there a female in the settler model... counldn't you possibly use that too for some units?

Yeah, but just like the other female model (the spy) it doesn't have any attack animations. I want women that kick butt.

Well did you see my idea for the harpies in the thread QES made about females... harpies would be a pretty good female unit that can kick butt :)

Yeah, but flying isnt possible right now. It would take a ton of work, and we have higher priorities.

FfH2 is much better than vanilla civ in terms of female units, vanilla only has spies and settlers.
here theres settlers, assasins, heroes, courtesans, elven magic users (and considering its all from two original models you definately made full use of them)

having a female dominated civ might be nice for flavour (elves or dark elves would fit best of existing civs solely based on elven magery female domination and their leader female percentage), but at the same time i dont think itd be fun to be type casted into one civ (so female units in some proportion throughout the other civs would still be nice).
the availability of female leaders in nearly all the civs, excepting the single leader ones and dwarves, is quite nice.
myself, im not affected much by the restriction of female leaders for say, the grigori or kurioates, since i just grab some nwn portraits and format them for civ and make my own leaders (i only recently started doing that, and really enjoyed the grigori with their adventurers).

ideally every unit could be like settlers, having a mix of men and women. but thats asking a lot, and i have absolutely no experience in 3d models and such so i can deal with the limitations. what might be nice if just a few more units the way assasins are, not necessarily for every race (like elven assasins are male, and the unit that replaces assasins for balseraphs are male) but a sprinkling around so every civ has some options. itd prolly be a good idea to focus on civs that are not exactly complete yet for new female units.

like, making the dark elves similar to drow in d&d (who are a matron based civilization in forgotten realms, where women rule and men are slaves :D)
i keep hoping for the dark elves to be all necromantic and female dominated, and then i can get some banshees. so if you've got plans for female models, try them there. there are plenty of good evil beings that are women that would make for interesting units, like succubi which could be for the infernal (Heroes of Might and Magic 5 has a fair number of evil women units). Or a pixie unit for elves!
and heroes, need more female heroes and especially atleast one on a horse! lol

about the "you're only a man" -2, there shoud be more of that sort of prejudice existing between races as well, id love for the elves to get a "you're an elf, we hate you" -5 and the elves hating everyone else too lol

i dont think anyone would claim this mod is gender biased or anything like that, as it definately improves in that respect on the game which it modded from.

Yeah, both Elven nations are supposed to be female dominated. Arendel is the real Ljosalfar leader (the Queen of the Seelie court). Amelanchier is the huntmaster and Thessa is a legendary Archmage. Of course the Svartalfar are lead by Faeryl alone.

@Sureshot
You should try doing graphics... everyone would like to see more female units (i already volenteered to try making a few models( or maybe less due to my lack of artistic abilities :()).
I like your idea about the elves. I compleatly forgot about the elven adept. It would be cool to rip that model from that unit and add it to the worrior unit (and put maybe a club or something).
I would like to say blender is a good program to use to do some 3d art...:)

ive tried using 3dmax i think it was, but didnt get much done and differing file formats just confused me, and i cant say i have any real experience with 3d modelling (tons of scripting, so ive been able to mess around with things to my liking with anything non-model related lol). ill check out blender if i get a chance, would be nice to not be dead-ended at 3d modelling

id specifically target dark elves instead of the light elves because the light elves already have tons of unique artwork done and itd be a shame to redo work for them when other civs still need new models.

One thing that confused me about the dark elven leader was the skin color... She looks more like a demon. The Femle warrior leader for the light elves looks more like a better evil leader then the current one, just a thought...

well dark elves normally have white or black hair, and either really pale skin, or blue to purple skin, or jet black skin, and crazy colour eyes... so they often look like vampires or demons

lineage 2 has some beautifully done dark elves for their wallpapers, though they'll a bit riskay lol
