A Brave New World Part 2

The world is a lot flatter ITL than in OTL.

idk, all the nation-states which make up OTL USA is about 141, give or take if I messed up which indian tribes are which. That's 16.5%, lower than my above estimate, but still a pretty big chunk.

Not only that but the resources of European nations are spread over a wider area, too, and South America is a factor in play as well. I reckon there's more industry ITL than OTL.

True, Mexico controls a large chunk of the USA. Also I understand that several regions of the world, like Brazil, became industrialized ITL, which does account for more flatness. However, my main point was simply comparing Russia (ITL democratic powerhouse) to OTL USA, and its still only 1/3-1/5 as powerful as OTL USA during the same time period. Also its only about 1/3 as powerful to ITL USA if it were a unified state.

Virginia's proof of communist plots has only backed up our claim of innocence. We must work together to stop them before they turn us on ourselves.

Yes but is this power being considered absolutely or relatively? Relatively speaking, Russia isn't as powerful because the rest of the world is much more powerful; absolutely, however, Russia may be more powerful than the US who is just a big fish in a small pond.

The reasoning crezth used is my argument on Russia. Also, USA as opposed to Russia had different backgrounds, where as advanced Russia may be here, a lot of their economic value is self-subsistence to a national degree. Yeah, they may not be as strong as real life America, but they are probably more economically secure.

From: Danish Empire
To: Members of the European Alliance of Nations

It is with great regret and my last act as the Prime Minister of the Danish Empire, that I shall retire our distinguished and prosperous nation from this alliance. The liberal Dansk Fremskridtspartiet, which recently won the elections but has yet to take on the holds of the government, had promised to retire this country out of the great alliance we helped to give birth to and build up. As, with much probability, the new government will do this same thing, but with less than kind words towards you (specially towards Germany), the current government has decided to act in this direction so that, at least, a friendly relationship can remain between our countries, even if we might never be able to act together like we have for the last years.

From today, February 28th 1919, the Danish Empire shall be considered to be no more part of the European Alliance of Nations, and with my signature I, Thorvald Stauning, Prime Minister of the Danish Empire and its colonies, so confirm it.

Yours faithfully,
Thorvald Stauning
Prime Minister of the Danish Empire

That's it, Stauning thought sadly. The love he felt for his country was what had driven him to write this letter. With the recent victory of the Fremskridtspartiet in the elections, using the retirement of the Danish Empire from the EAN as the flagship of their promise list (which was probably what had attracted the most people to change from voting to the Konservative Folkeparti to the Fremskridspartiet), he was quite sure that the liberals would do the same, but they would most probably do it with harsher words towards the Germans, and he didn't want diplomatic relationships with their neighbours go down the drain.

He was rather sad that the liberals identified the European Alliance of Nations with Germany and war, without regards to the fact that Sweden, England, Hungary and Netherlands were also part of it, and that, through the EAN, many important scientifical, military and industrial developments had been achieved. He supposed that the defeat and the anti-EAN feeling was the fault of his government as much as the international situation: his cabinet had voted in favour to join the war against the Ottoman Empire and Egypt, and the only thing that had been won was thousands of dead soldiers. Also, they hadn't been able to do much to fight against the economical crisis that had shaken the world, although he supposed that the African Dams project was doing some good, as it gave work to lots of people in Nijeria and South-East Africa.

Looking at the letter he had just written, he called for his secretary and asked her to make six copies. He would later call for a messenger to deliver the letters to the embassies of the EAN members with a diplomatic bag. The sixth letter would be given to his spokesman, as he would be the one to deliver the news to the newspapers.

OOC: Sorry very much, guys, but the events forced me to do this. If I could, I would have remained within the EAN, but I have to hear the will of the people (and no, my king won't try to do a coup d'etat, he is quite fond of the liberal government). It was quite nice to work next to you, and hope that there will be other chance to do it. We are still in the ACC, and will do our best to help people eliminate the scourge of violent socialism and communism.

Of course you know, such a thing is completely silly. You, as well as your comrades, are secretly trying to find a way to take down Georgia and its righteous government - and no more. Hmm... you seem awfully set in your ways about it too. Could it be that the Gulf Alliance et al is nothing more than a communist front? Something to think about.

To The World
From Virginia

Virginia, through her expert counter-espionage division the Royal Guard, has found evidence that directly links Mexico and the Lakota Commune to the supplies and training of the insurgent Miami. Virginia urges the sane, god-fearing, good capitalist countries to end all relations with these two states and take all necessary action at isolating them.

To SUSA and other Allies of Mexico
From Virginia

Until now, Virginia has seen no reason to ostracize any peaceful socialist nations who do nothing that effects those around them. SUSA has even proclaimed itself an enemy to violent socialist uprisings. Yet your allies in Mexico City and the Commune of the Lakota have actively sponsored the violent uprising of the Miami within Virginia's borders, and even continue to do so. We ask that, if SUSA is true to her word, that you cut off all relations and trade with those who sponsor violent communism.

To Algonquin
From the Empire of Virginia

Guns, ammunition, food supplies, and even soldiers are being trafficked through your territory to arm the insurgency in Miami. For years Virginia has been peaceful and considerate to the Miami, integrating their once-backward nation into the world economy, and increasing the prosperity of those people. If Miami falls to communism the Algonquin Nation will be all but surrounded by hostile regimes bent on expanding their ideology through violence.

We don't ask for Algonquin aid in this fight, this much we know is not possible. But we do hope the Algonquin will step up border patrols, destroy Lakota and Mexican outposts in their nations, and stop the supply routes from going through her prairies.

Again more accusations without proof. We challenge France and Virginia to backup their claims. We are sure their claims will turn out to be as truthful as Georgia’s claims of Communist plots.

Send a representative to Richmond. We will show you the evidence.
The same goes double for us! You damn dirty Commies can't pull a fast one on us.

The Union of Mexico will send representatives to Richmond to see this evidence. Our government has in no way condoned such activities.

To: Texas, The Gulf Alliance
From: The Union of Mexico

The Georgian plots against Texas' president shows the true nature and violence of the Klannist movement. These Klans gain support by creating chaos and lies and cannot be trusted. We believe that it is in both the Gulf Alliance and the Union of Mexico's best interests to co-operate with each other to ensure security and stability throughout the region. As such we believe it would be best for our nations intelligence agencies to work together in the future to ensure that if any further violent action against either of our nations are attempted they will be foiled and brought to the attention of the world.
