Liberals call for increased spending on Rural Education
Education Secretary Stephen Bernard has called for increased spending for rural schools in order to improve school attendance and literacy, a move that received endorsement from Bernard's Liberal party. "In order for East India to compete in a rapidly modernizing world, we can not rely on simple numbers or just farming or manufacturing. We must train the young people of today to become the workers and engineers of tomorrow". The Bill calls for the construction of additional primary schools in rural districts to teach children from six to thirteen years of age and provides for a free or reduced cost lunch at noon.

While Liberal members voiced support for the Education Improvement Bill, it has drawn criticism from the National Congress and Socialist Congress parties. "While we can agree on better schools, where will these schools be built? Will more schools be built in the poorest and most remote areas of the country or be used as a form of vote buying?" said Arthur Jain, MLA of Gujarat. While most lessons will be conducted in English the instruction in local languages will also be included. Still some are not satisfied, Socialist Congress member Kamal Nagarkar "This is simply a wound dressing that does little to resolve the main issues which is rule from overseas. We should be speaking our own languages not a foreign tongue." The bill will be voted on later this month and is expected to pass with a solid majority.

The Union government questions if this means that Siam will exit from the Japanese Co Prosperity Sphere.

If it is, the Union government is interested in cooperation and investments into Siam as well.

From: The Kingdom of Siam
To: The FBU

Siam has no such plans. We thought that Greece was, if anything, turkish interest, so we didn't expect the Franco-angles to be interested.

Unfortunately you are incorrect in the matter. Greece is neither Turkey nor FBU's interest, but we are concerned about syndicalist a making their presence felt in the Mediterranean for reasons other than fair business.

Of course, if you do not seek opening trade with us and only provide preferential treatment to certain parties for unclear reasons, than we see no reason why FBU should entertain the notion of Siam entering the Mediterranean market.

If you're one of the like four people waiting for a PM response from me, sorry - today has been a very tiring day. I promise I will get back to you after I wake up.

From: Greece

Firstly, we are not under Turkish or FBU influence. Greece is an independent state. Secondly, we will have to terminate the trade deal due to the diplomatic situation in the Mediterranean.

Only one small correction: as per the background provided and confirmed by SouthernKing, the formal head of state of East Indian Dominion is Her Majesty Queen Mary I Windsor of Great Britain, New South Wales, and New Zealand ("Great Britain" is still a part of the formal title, despite the ultimate loss of the British Isles by the Empire). However, de-facto you do enjoy full independence.
