News from Garibaldi
The Director passed away yesterday after an aneurysm burst during a late night planning session on the future of Foundational government. Early medical and police investigations do not indicate foul play. As succession law is not yet in place an emergency conference between civilian and military officials has laid out the framework of a temporary administrative structure to ensure continuance of governance and the stability of the Foundation.
Although the full details have not yet been agreed upon the Foundation will be governed by a joint civilian/military government with the the civilian arm having precedence. The mayor of Garibaldi City, Jerry Michaels, has been appointed First Mayor of Garibaldi and Admiral Bruce Sinclair has been appointed Marshall.

OOC: The delay with this update was caused by several things – 1) Four space battles, two of which were AI vs AI. Stupid me. 2) Full-time employment kicking in. 3) Me being a bit of a putz. Blackbard finally messaged me about it today, and for getting my butt into gear he receives a sizzlin' 2 EP.
Update: 4th Quarter 2520
The interstellar civil war that seemed dormant for so long reignited this quarter, as multiple factions took on the self-proclaimed First Great and Bountiful Human Empire. The government-in-exile based at Ouromov conquered the Caderousse system, and the Nyamekye Empire destroyed the Imperial garrison at Gulashy, but the biggest news by far was the joint invasion of the Lacaille system by a massive Black Shogunate/Nyamekye fleet. Lacaille is now under the control of the Black Shogunate, and the Imperial government has relocated to the Larssen system. The Black Shogunate has become the premier economic power of known space.
In news in a distant second, the People's Democracy of Hernandez has conquered the Vegetti regime's system of Lermontov and massacred assorted government officials and their little dogs, too.
Far from the strife (well, most of it), the Garibaldi Foundation is rumoured to have developed an effective counter to space cannon weaponry. The First Great and Bountiful Human Empire developed plans for a giant battleship this year, but ultimately, what with the war, nothing came of it.

Hrrng. My laptop with all the update files is throwing a tantrum for the present. A few military notes from the update - Mutaguchi fell to the Ouromov regime, Shakhmatov was conquered by the Black Shogunate, Von Reuther was conquered by the Black Shogunate and handed over to Nyamekye, the Nyamekye fleet assaulting Vitow was defeated, leading to the loss of the accompanying transports, and Vegetti bought several Battalions, holding the line against the People's Democracy of Hernandez. Garibaldi and the Elder Children continue to peacefully develop, keeping pace with all of the militarily expanding powers except the Black Shogunate.
