No matter how hard I try, I can't find any clue she's dancing clockwise. Every time I see her, she is dancing couterclockwise.

It's the opposite for me, pretty disturbing... no matter how much I try, focusing on the shadow, hips etc, she keeps twirling clockwise. :crazyeye:

edit: good test btw

Same here.............

I've done the test before and been able to see it as either direction, but this time she is clearly always twirling clockwise.

Anticlockwise for me, it's fun being in the minority.

Yay, my left brain just started working. I think it's pretty difficult to change between the different rotations, once I see one, it sticks, now I can't see the clockwise rotation.

It was the shadowtrick that helped me...

It's not your left brain. Seen it disproved many times.

My hypothesis is that it depends on the moment when you open the spoiler and on how you expect it to move.

The dancer is doing a strip tease , doctor what is wrong with me ?

Nothing is wrong with you, you're not the one posting dirty pictures. ;)

Anyways, I have seen the image before and know what it is supposed to do, but I can't make it do what I want. I sometimes try to brute-force optical illusions to disillusion them, I can't with this one.

Counterclockwise; I can see her spinning either way though. Also, I can see her constantly changing directions with only one side facing me (ie she's always facing backwards, moving in a half circle). One thing I noticed is that every time you open the spoiler (I tried a few times) her foot starts out on the right side and moves to the left (it's always at the same position in the animation) and this might influence how people see it.
Spoiler :
Plus, disappointed to see it didn't even matter to get the math question right when I sped through it.

What was the answer to the problem is spoiler 1 & what's the formula for figuring it out? It's been more than a dozen years since I've taken a math class.

I don't see her go counterclockwise.

Edit: BTW, I'm left-handed. Maybe this helps in your little experiment.

More curious is how about 60% went for spoiler 2. Coincidence?

60/40's within standard errors for a sample of 84, isn't it?

(that's my way of saying "yes")

People opened both of the spoilers the one was a mathematical equation the other a picture ,they liked the picture more and so they voted that they opened the second one.

Alter the equation so it reads 3x^2-16x-12=0

ax^2 + bx + c = 0

then use x = (-b +or- the root of (b^2 - 4ac)) / 2a

Or so I think... it's only been half a dozen years for me since I last had to use this. ;s

I didn't figure the answer out though... can make her change direction at will. Always seems to start off clockwise.
