A Mafia Game taking place in the East [Game Thread - Concluded]

Actually, even Zack mafia had true reveals upon death. Ghost Town didn't. Other than that I don't recall any game with false reveals.

Oh come on, this isn't Zack Mafia :p
That's libel. ;) I've never lied about a dead player's alignment as a host, and was actually pretty peeved when a host did that in a game I played in -- there are certain things that, as a host, you just shouldn't lie about.

ninja'd, but when I said

was actually pretty peeved when a host [revealed dead mafia as town] in a game I played in

I was not referring to Ghost Town, it was a TWC game.

I won't vote today. I don't know who to, and Newyn is just too easy and lazy.

This still irks me... Town don't have anything to fear from voting... Mafiya on the other hand...

Updating the kill analyses.

Night 1

Spoiler :
SouthernKing (town) - "shot on [sic] the head at close range"

SamSniped (MAFIYA) - "had had [sic] an entire clip from a submachine-gun emptied into it at close range"

Night 2

Spoiler :
Double A (YAKUZA) - "it appeared that someone had shot it several times, then ran him through with a sharp-bladed katana"

Sprig (town) - "kunai sticking out of one of his eyes and almost through the back of the [sic] head"

Night 3

Spoiler :
choxorn (town) - "cut in half with a katana and shot at carelessly with an Uzi"

edse (town) - "shot in the face with a revolver"

N1 SouthernKing and N3 edse look consistent -- both shot in the head. Clean and professional. Seems pretty clear that this is the Russian Mafiya kill.

N2 Double A and N3 choxorn also look consistent -- sliced/stabbed with katana with multiple bullet wounds. Talk about overkill. N1 SamSniped is somewhat consistent, what with the belly-full of smg bullets and all, but the missing katana and Double A claiming that kill makes me hesitate, unless Double A also killed himself and choxorn. It seems like N1 SamSniped and N3 choxorn would be the Yakuza kills, but presumably they wouldn't kill one of their own. Adding this all up with the messy, overkill nature (potential psychopath?) of it leads me to believe this is either a serial killer or a messed up vigilante. The katana could also indicate this person is some sort of Samurai working with the samurai roleblocker, but three mafia teams seems unlikely.

That leaves N2 Sprig1 as the remaining kill, which leaves the Yakuza. The kunai is typically associated with ninjas, however.

So, to conclude... still kind of a confusing mess.

Almost forgot about Kennigit's slip-up Day 2.

I would be interested in why the mafia did not do a kill last night, but hey, that's just me.
Seems like he's subconsciously revealing that the Yakuza missed a kill N1 here. It's possible that Double A was either just being silly or that his meaning was misinterpreted. Here's the post if you forgot:

Anyway, it looks like I called the mafiya. I accept cash, check, and Steam. Divinations have never been this cheap, you guys. Act while my supplies of chicken blood still last.
It doesn't really make sense if he's not claiming a kill, since he did absolutely nothing to mention SamSniped in any way before this. That said, killing himself the next night makes even less sense, unless the addition of a katana is more significant in distinguishing the kills than we realize, which would mean there are four different killers. But for now, the most reasonable conclusion seems to be that Double A just straight up lied or was messing around.

tl;dr

Mafiya -- N1 SouthernKing, N2 (no kill), N3 choxorn

Yakuza -- N1 (no kill), N2 Sprig1, N3 (no kill)

Serial Killer / Vigilante -- N1 SamSniped, N2 Double A, N3 edse

(remember this is just speculation on my part and probably not completely correct)

No point in lynching Newyn really, the Russians will kill him for being a yakuzzi and vice versa.

I'm going to check the day one BSmith wagon, brb.

Well, that's the quote that got edse killed I think. Says nothing about who did it, though. A lot of ways to read that.

I'm not entirely convinced the narrations can be relied upon; it would either require a really active third party (fourth party if we're counting Ried's Samurai), or special powers that can make wolves kill themselves. And... does it even help to know which team killed who? Doesn't seem like that gets us any closer to catching folks than the bodies by themselves do.

Considering there are roleblocks in this game, it absolutely matters. Plus it's just good information to have anyways, if we decide to analyze kills. It also helps us determine how many factions we're dealing with.

Why wouldn't it be useful?

If the discussion were to dominate the Day.

Going off of this, a short history of the BSmith Wagon:

Day 1:

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13628288&postcount=4 Verarde is the first. IIRC this is tradition, so meaningless from an analytical POV

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13628296&postcount=6 edse is the second, and enthusiastic about getting it rolling. If Internet Flea is to be believed, this enthusiasm could be important.

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13628347&postcount=17 I get on the wagon (third on the bandwagon, fos: spaceman!)

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13628370&postcount=19 King Morgan gets on the wagon. Internet Flea is voting for him right now

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13629162&postcount=31 BSmith comments on the wagon. Not really noteworthy

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13629182&postcount=32 Murska-san is unimpressed by BSmith's comment

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13629281&postcount=33 remake on the wagon

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13629327&postcount=35 BSmith starts calling for a second candidate

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13629356&postcount=36 I'm worried that having a second contender will lead to no lynch (as it did)

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13629376&postcount=37 Zack agrees with BSmith and Sprig, but the counterwagon hasn't formed at this point

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13629479&postcount=38 something to analyze from Day 1? Its a miracle! (me)

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13629577&postcount=43 remake starts the counterwagon by switching off of BSmith. Keep in mind that Kennigit is Yakuza, but also keep in mind that the counterwagon stopped BSmith from being lynched (and led to no lynch).

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13629588&postcount=44 from Southern King to Kennigit (not really "saving" BSmith here)

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13629673&postcount=52 same as the Legato vote

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13629683&postcount=53 same as 52

I think I previously cited this http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13629689&postcount=55 post as Zack defending Kennigit. A weak link, given how wrong I was about chox.

Interesting reaction by Sprig here http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13629694&postcount=56. He was the first to call for a counterwagon, yet he votes for the person who started the counterwagon (on a Yakuza to boot) in a way that clearly doesn't contribute to the counterwagon. fos: Sprig. On the other hand, Sprig's case (postulating a remake - Southern King connection may also be worth exploring)

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13630382&postcount=70 was this (vote in red) accepted as a legit vote?

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13631310&postcount=76 edse switch to Kennigit

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13631320&postcount=77 I switch to Kennigit (not third on the wagon this time, hah!)

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13631328&postcount=78 Zack's opinion on all this

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13631529&postcount=82 Our friend Internet Flea who inspired this investigation hops from BSmith to Kennigit

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13631561&postcount=85 Water's vote was counted. We fell one short of lynching BSmith

Day 2:

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13634394&postcount=148 BSmith's unexplained day 2 post

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13634595&postcount=157 I try to start another BSmith wagon, since BSmith often lurks as scum and said little of substance so far. Also raise the possibility that BSmith was "saved". Not sure on that theory

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13634618&postcount=158 choxorn is second after me on BSmith

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13634794&postcount=161 jht doesn't like lynching Yakuza Kennigit fos:jht

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13634902&postcount=163 KM votes BSmith

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13634958&postcount=164 BSmith responds, says he will say more during the week

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13635336&postcount=169 KM wasn't third on the BSmith wagon

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13635622&postcount=186 chox switches to Yakuza Kennigit. Not much to see here

I think it may be worth putting some pressure on people who have been voting willy-nilly ignoring completely the discussion around them, such as jht or Internet Flea.

Just FYI your fos on Sprig1 is an fos on a dead townie.

oh. It seems people accusing dead townies is something of a tradition in this game, isn't it.

Also JohannaK, right now, for better or worse, Internet Flea IS the discussion, though I'm also unhappy with his "hunches" vote.

ugh... I don't want to resort to lurker hunting, but unless we want to follow through on Sprig1's proposed remake-Southern King connection, I have no idea. Speaking of which, where is Southern King?

Also a dead townie, it seems.

I know Internet Flea IS the discussion, which is why I am voting him. To pressure him to say something more clear than 'hunches'.
