A Mafia Game taking place in the East [Game Thread - Concluded]

If the Yakuza and Ninja were all dead when I died, how come I didnt achieve my victory condition? Now it might be that I also needed to survive to the bitter end?

...I'll have you know I was seriously helping town when I was the only Yakuza left. I was basically a serial killer at that point and realized that I wouldn't last the game... >.>

I seriously had spaceman98 as Mafiya that day, and he was next on my kill list, along with JohannaK (the Korean). Turns out everyone who rang suspicious rang suspicious to me for good reason. Oh, except for edse, but it was either him or JohannaK that night; I picked wrong. :p

We Yakuza got pretty screwed by luck, and we could apparently be hit by friendly fire? I mean, did Verarde really cause our attack to hit one of our own? That seems a bit... unfair. >.<

You killed me :o:sad::cry: I was the Mafiya police, scanning for foreigners (JohannaK the night I died).

Good game all round, well played Spaceman for walking the tightrope, but I have to say that it was only Sprigs misguided influence that has kept you alive for the last 5 days or so, but offing Remake defo helped that cause and took the pressure off.

All in all a great game and I'm glad town prevailed.

I was Third-Party, for the record; I needed to outlive the Mafiya and other Foreigners.
My whole strategy this game was basically seducing first Zack, then Sprig to get myself into the town network, and hopefully make myself a trusted townie. It worked remarkably well IMO

I have no idea how; I had you pegged as the scummiest of scum by Day 3, just from the choxorn arguments. That said, I've been rooting for a scum-spaceman victory ever since town decided to kill me. So close!

I would agree there should be fewer roleblockers next time, or more ways around them.

Well if we hadn't lost Sam and his three super-kills at the very beginning, we would have been able to deal some damage to the blockers.

Eh. I still think that a situation of 1 mafia and 1 town should be a mafia win, regardless of the townie's ability.
That's in the case where there'll be an eternal tied vote.
Also, I've realized something: I am literally Milady de Winter in this game. In commemoration of my (almost) victory, I am changing my avatar to her until further notice.
Explain.

Overall, I feel like this game had too many roleblockers. A bulletproof roleblocker simply shouldn't exist at all, except in extreme cases. Other than that, it was an interesting setup, and certainly worth playing to the end. Thank You Tak for GMing this marathon game, and seeing it through to the bitter end.
There were so many because they were expected to fall left and right. KingMorgan and Sprig were quite literally bulletproof. They could have been killed by explosives, ninjas, demented prostitutes, etc.
It's finally over... I wondered how many times the town would have to not get killed at night to finally get it right.

Stats Thread Operator Mode: I take it I should count Riedquat as the sole survivor?
Totally. For all in-game purposes, Internet Flea, Verarde, Zack and spaceman98 are 'dead'.
Well... I survived. As Milady, I will now get sentenced to death in Russia, be marked accordingly, seduce my jailer, and escape. You haven't seen the last of me yet!
Stop giving away the plot of the next game! :hammer:

Verarde and Zack were ninjas as well, just not revealed as such at the time and, due to yours and Internet Flea's deaths, never during the game.

...I'm going to also suggest nixing roles that need to outlive seven other people without allies or lynch survivability. Johanna and I were practically DOA.

I wasn't fully satisfied with those roles and how they turned out. They were intended to join other factions and then escape after their targets had been killed, but, well… perhaps giving more information along the lines of 'see whom else you can recruit' on all scums' PMs would've been useful.

Did I just see an edited post in my game thread? ;)

I don't like games where people just throw out a dozen QTs. Also, using QTs means that you can give them out to other people who snoop in on other conversations. Granted, not everyone's Dommy, but, still…

Well, I'm never a particularly communicative townie, myself, but people with messageitis might find a bit tedious.

Plus a qt dump at the end is better than never seeing any of that communication at all...

Is there a yakuza qt? Don't ignore me this time!

Reminds me of the last two games I hosted, where I only put one or two roleblockers in but a few too many protection abilities and bullet-proofing stuff. The anti-townies had a few ways of getting around them, but they didn't work out the way I thought they would. In League of Evil, I think spaceman, the bulletproof townie, was attacked 5 times and survived all of them.

I think I'll have to see what the hell IF, Verarde, and Zack's roles were and how they "died" before I can be sure of that- I've counted escaping townies/neutrals/mafia as surviving often in the past if their escape was an in-game mechanic.

We were all Ninja; at least on my end, instead of dying from the lynch the narration was about being forced to flee with mission unfulfilled (and then getting randomly arrested and interrogated on my way out. :p)

"Old Ninja never die, you just never see them again."
